Remember that you give to someone without expecting something back...even an expression. The good is in the giving, not the reaction.

of course the lady may have medical/mental problems--you never know.
One reactions will never be the same as anothers.

"the victim being watched"---LOL---hmm........

Oh, I wasn't expecting any reward....but I just wanted to see if it gave her joy. I can at least get a little kick of out of that can't I? :D

We are getting over a dozen eggs a day from our chickens now and with only 2 of us, can't eat them all. We have been giving our excess eggs away to people who are having a hard time making it or are out of work.

Karen, I do that too! :)

I know it doesn't sound like much to give someone eggs, but there is so much nutrition in that tiny oval and our eggs are so much better than the store's~almost a luxury item!

I still sell eggs but I also donate some to the local food pantry and I give some to my patient's families...especially the ones who are less fortunate.

I always tell them they are doing me a favour by taking them off my hands...that I have an excess and they tend to build up on me. ;)

I think sharing something you've made or produced is so much more personal than just giving money. Some time and thought goes into these kind of items.

I give away so much sausage, eggs and produce that I could truly be declared a supermarket.

HA HA HA
sure...LOL

when produce is harvested here I have hard times giving away tons of produce I can't handle....seems everyone is giving away baskets of SQUASH!

around here it is not uncommon to come home to a porchful of squash and more left on doorsteps. anonymous. people just leave it like an abandoned puppy and run..hahaha

My final stops after the farmer market is 2 restaurants who buy up any leftovers and if they are overloaded or I don't have enough to stop, I hit the food pantry before coming home and donate.

I kinda have that attitude plant a little more cause someone can eat it.

I LOVE that attitude! I don't know if I've ever met a grower who doesn't feel that way.

You reminded me of an exciting development at our local farmer's market. I kept begging the food pantry 2 years ago to get volunteers to come with a cart at the end of each farmer's market. Nobody likes hauling unsold goods back home. Finally this year they did it! They got a lot of excellent produce, and what an especially good year to have more food for the pantry.

I am surprised it took 2 years to convince them..LOL

yes at the end of market day is the time to find wonderful deals if you are buying....and it is great they took advantage of the donations that farmers wanted to give.

Yup, I hate hauling back also..haha
