Wow, sorry about the smoke filled trailer. I have done that egg trick on a COUPLE of occasions :hide - just not quite to the smoking embers point.

An now about that trailer ...

It is VERY interesting to me that on May 14 (which was SATURDAY only 2 days ago!!) you made the statement that and I quote "Our horsetrailer is apparently gone for good. :hit ".

Talk about let go and let GOD!! HE is a fast worker to boot! :D

Oh, wow- what good luck! Both the trailer AND the eggs not actually causing a house fire! (I'm another one who has forgotten eggs put on to boil- ruins pots and smells awful, but I've never reached the point of filling the entire house with smoke).
Your poor scared dog! I worry about that- if anything ever happened, one of ours would hide, too.

Yeah at that point I didn't want to call the police in case it wasn't our trailer. I tend to think all brave until I am in the woods under a highway with a stolen horse trailer and only a phone for defense!
I had to laugh at this one- that's me! A human pit bull until I am in too deep to back out if there is trouble. Good thing my SO is a cop and is trying to temper my impulses.

This morning dh got paid. He had been drooling over every motorcycle he passes ever since I've known him. His boss decided to sell his 2000 Honda shadow 1100. He offered it to dh first at a dirt cheap price. Dhs reason- at least according to him- was that it would save a ton of money on gas for him to go to work.;). Anyway since he gets paid 3 times this month I let him get it. So I start teasing him now that he finally got one, what was I getting? Literally within 15 min of that coming out of my mouth his
Phone rang. It was a friend of his that deals in meat goats wanting to know what kind I wanted and what price range! He was on his way to the auction. That was kinda freaky. I told dh we couldn't afford one right now with him just buying the bike. He heard and told dh not to worry about it. He would get one anyway and we could just pay him back later. A couple hours later step Fil shows up to look at Dhs new bike and i made sure to ask him about our horse trailer he had borrowed. He was through with it and it was still at his house. About an hour after he left I got a knock on the door and it was a woman inhad never seen before. She start explaining that she had seen a horse trailer in our driveway before and she was wondering if they could rent/borrow it for a couple hours. She has a cow at her brothers place and no way to bring it home. I told her that we as a general rule do NOT rent out anything we own, but if dh didn't have a problem with it then she could borrow it as long as they brought it back tomorrow. So yes we loaned out our recently recovered horse trailer to complete strangers. But they honestly looked like good honest people. In the time we talked she asked if we wanted a broke mule. I first said no, but her daughter (who it belonged to) said that it was broke to ride and pull. I am terrified of mules, but pulling is my breaking point. I love to ride in a wagon. Her husband said when he returned the trailer that he would load the mule and bring it too. Lol. So in the morning I MAY have a milk goat and a working mule. :fl. At least that is what I'm hoping. If not then I would still be happy with just the trailer returned in one piece lol

:woot That is so crazy... motorcycles, mules and meat goats. I guess it just proves "ask and you shall receive."

Sorry to everyone who tried to read that last post. I typed it on my phone and between autocorrect, the small screen, and my poor typing skills, it was a little hard to read. Our Internet was having issues all day. Anyway I was just too excited to wait.

Anyway I am still trying to post from my phone, so no pics for now. This morning our trailer was returned and inside was a pretty flea bit gray almost 13 hand Molly mule. She has a blue spot about the size of a half dollar on her shoulder. The people said that they have rode her and she is gentle. They said that she had been chasing their cows and running them through the fence so she had to go. She is in good shape and by her teeth I would put her around 10 or so years old. She is a little hard headed though. I staked her in the yard and was brushing her when the meter reader showed up. I went to meet the lady and while talking to her I saw the mule spin around effectively wrapping 3 of her four legs. All I could think was, oh great she's fixing to throw herself down right her in the yard in front of the meter reader! So I ran to untie her. She must have had experience because she froze when she realized her legs were wrapped and calmly stood while I untangled her. During all this the meter reader came up to see her and she reached out and tried to steal the clipboard out of her hands. Scared the meter reader who thought she was trying to bite her. I haven't heard anything about the results of the goat auction yet, but since he hasnt called I'm thinking he must not havefound anything good.
