Dh came in last night about 1 am with two of his fingers bandaged. It wasn't as bad as I expected. It was only two fingers and not all of them. The two were pretty bad though. They didn't remove the nail since there was still tissue connecting it, so they reset the nailbed on the broken one. The nail was driven down into his finger on one side and standing straight up on the other. The doctor told him that if they took it then they would have to take it bed and all and it would never come back and this way it at least has a chance of coming back. Anyway he completely crushed the last digits of his pointer and middle fingers and broke the bone on the middle one. So he has to go take a drug test this morning. So far he hasn't complained about them hurting yet. Once it kicks in though he is going to whine and want to be waited on hand and foot and refuse to take pain meds. I know how this goes. Finger broke affects the legs and rear end too! Lol We went through that when he broke his elbow when he and a horse rolled down a hillside together a few years ago.
Anyway it rained most of the morning and I have baby ducks hatching. One is out so far!
Dh went to do his drug test today. While he was there his boss the owner requested that they look at his fingers while he was there. The er he had gone to is known far and wide around here for their screw ups. They recently got a brand new facility, but somehow they just can't get their stuff in order. Anyway the doctor looked at his middle finger and freaked out. The bone was split and open to air, not all the brake dust was out, AND they hadn't splinted it! She sent him 60 miles away to see a specialist. That's where he is now. Grrr. Most locals refuse to even stop at the er here and got good reason.
I brought in the new babies. It was raining too hard outside to leave them with their mother plus I am going to raise them myself anyway. Out of nine eggs I got three babies. When the mule knocked her box over it broke three with formed babies in it, one egg went missing, and two were bad. At least the three that were left all hatched.
Holy cow! Your ER sounds like ours...a glorified band aid station. I am so glad the boss had them look at it...and he is seeing a specialist!! I TOTALLY know how the finger bone is connected to the leg bone, which is connected to the butt bone...which is ran by the " get me this" bone. LOL I hope he heals FAST for YOUR sake! LOL
