and...

ok here are my $0.02 but i'm typing fast b/c i need to go and start squeezing them goats:

*** Obviously I need to behave more like a grown up
um... been there. done that. you are not lame. actually i think acting a little crazy helps. you're just fine, baby. now you know that "dont cry over spilled milk" is more serious than you first imagine. our grandma told us how she and her brother were messing around in the car on the way to town - and they spilled the cream that they were going to sell for that week's grocery money. they cried. and it was a big deal. i think it really means "onward and upward." you can always use straw or bad hay to mop up the spilled milk and then put it on the compost.

****chickens flop over dead all the time for no reason. you might want to check the bellies of the other hens to make sure they are not hard and tight (egg bound). but really - if she was older, who knows. unless you are seeing weird behaviors and/or weird poops.. it was what it was. sorry baby.

***candling - this totally creeps me out so we never do it. i know. i'm totally lame but everyone has their limits. ha!

***eggs - should be fine. if you think about it ducks will lay one egg a day for up to 20-something days before they set their nests! so your eggs should be fine for the bator.

cheese: you've got to check this out! just today i saw that he has some fresh cheese recipes that dont use cultures (just rennet!). i really love this guy - for lots of reasons:
http://biology.clc.uc.edu/fankhauser/cheese/cheese.html

***flour vs bread flour
bread flour has more(??) gluten in it. you can probably buy "wheat gluten" at a health food store and add a bit. i do this with my mostly whole wheat breads and it totally works!

***walmart
i swear i can see their stupid lights flicker and it gives me a headache every time i go in there. and i just get angry and hostile and not because i dont like them - the lighting is just bad bad bad and it might be irritating your spinny-ness.

thats what i got for ya - now i gotta go squeeze them goats!

*hugs!*
:)

Thanks for the support, gleno, FJ and FD, and OFG I love that cheese link, you are always my hero! Wow.....everything I need to know. I can tell I'll be reading at that site for the evening. I started a feta recipe (the one from the junket box) and I'm at the waiting until tomorrow for a "clean break" stage.....sounds like I'm escaping the house tomorrow or something.

So maybe I need to add gluten to my regular flour, do you know how much per cup? I'm making pizza tonight for the boys, they should like that.

We had rain predicted, but we are having a GORGEOUS typical spring day. I'm in shock. I have everyone free ranging.

I learned my goats can climb trees! I have a stump tree and found them up in it today, I was so wishing I had the camera. We really don't want them eating this particular tree so I had to scare them down, but it was pretty funny.

And my muscovy have finally taken their spring bath. They really don't use the pond much except to drink. But they actually felt warm enough to get all playful and splashy and they look all pretty and white like they have not looked in a long time.

Ugh. Walmart is designed to make you ill. Not sure why it's built-in, but it is.

:hugs Yeh... I know I'll never see a penny of the money I put into social security either lol. I'll be glad to know you're getting some of it before it goes belly up though!!!

The vet says I'm awesome with my kitties :D I don't think she was just saying that either. She also said if I ever need to make payment plan, she knows I'm good for it, so I don't have to worry about it. How cool is that?? :D

I don't know whether to whoop with elation, scream, or cry. :ep

I've been approved for my SSI. Starting end of July, our checking account will recieve an amount similar to what I earned at the vet clinic (less gas money) monthly. :weee The uncertainty and anxiety is over!!!!!!!

However, there were two negative things. One, it doesn't start until end of JULY. And two, we thought they would "back pay" me through last December, and that isn't their policy (not sure why we thought it was). You have to go five months UNPAID to be considered disabled, and then there is a month and a half delay for the first check. I guess you have to SUFFER enough to prove to them you really really can't work, even if you are starving.

So we starve until the end of July and we won't have the huge lump sum we thought we were getting (to pay my doctor, and pay back my mom and go to the dentist, and a zillion other things we have been holding off on). :hit Not only will I not be able to pay off my mom immediately, but we will most likely have to borrow more to live till then. :hide We even owe our 19-year-old son through a bank screw-up where they applied his deposit to our negative credit balance as a payment so they could lower our credit limit. (WE HATE US BANK).

However, I have been approved. This will end. It isn't forever. We won't get a lump sum but at least I can count the days until I actually get a paycheck again.....72 days now.

Wow!

Hey...you're APPROVED! Let's just leave it at that! One day you can deal with all the leftover crap one person/thing at a time.

But for now...you're APPROVED! :weee
