Great idea if they're going to bulldoze it, take everything- especially the copper pipes! But not until winter is over

Well there is still the possibility that they will choose the other route, and they won't even tell us what they decide until 2012, or break ground until 2013, so I think we will be here awhile longer even if we get bought out.
*SD looks at her friends, already helping her pack and organize for moving, and says "Heh, put that back! I still need that for this year!".....

Big government wheels take a long time to turn. We have known about this for about two years already but the latest news made us sit up and take notice a lot more, before this it was just a remote possibility, it has gotten much less remote now, in fact, I do think it will happen eventually if they take the path of least resistance, which unfortunately is Dunegan Mountain.

I have to trust that this is just part of God's plan for us. He must know what He is doing.

We are having RAIN today after having several days in a row of beautiful weather. The things I've planted outside will actually really like this nice soft rain and warm temps I think. The goats blame me of course, they give me scowls whenever the weather isn't good and expect me to bring them hay and hold an umbrella over them.

The chickens are all getting along pretty well since I put the younger ones out there in the big coop, it sure is nice to see all the rainbow of colors of my Easter Eggers. I sure like these birds. My two year-old EEs lay a nice fat green egg every day, and my new six are the prettiest chickens I have. Next time I buy EE chicks, I will buy more of those white ones, all of them turned out so lovely and colorful, not white except for a few feathers. I'll have to post some pictures of them when we have a nice day and I get a chance to take some so I can show them off, really pretty chickens. I also got four speckled sussex and they are lovely now too. I think I will like them, they have nice personalities, I hope they will lay well.

THANK YOU for all the support regarding the Eminent Domain issue guys, it is nice to feel it from y'all.....

I need to let my little chickens out with the big ones soon. We've got some work to do on the pen to make it more secure first and it's just been too hot for me to tackle without DH here. So the little Delawares and Dominiques remain in their dog crate just a while longer. I only have one EE but she is definitely one of my prettiest birds. She's light cream colored and lays a lovely green egg every day. I always grab that one for myself. Shhh don't tell. I swear they taste better!

Too true, they have to make it through all the red tape, et al, too!

Anyone want lemonade?

SD sheepishly follows everyone with her pitcher as people start leaving......

"Ya know I'll probably need ya to come back, just not sure WHEN! Believe me, we will strip this place clean!"

Anyone need eggs?

I'd love some lemonade about now! Where is that geological survey map that I had a while ago. Surely we can find another path to wrap that red tape around. :caf
