There is actually a small percentage of people who GAIN hearing from this procedure. The doctor did not even mention this to me, he didn't want to get my hopes up. He and I know that this is for the vertigo, but we both know sometimes it helps the hearing. So we both have our fingers crossed behind our backs. I'm a very knowledgeable person about my disease, I've been studying it for many years and we have discussed this particular surgery for at least five years.

I do have faith in Dr. Kim....but not in my own body's ability to heal. I reminded him that whatever problems COULD go wrong, that is what happens to me. He gets this funny crooked smile and shook his head no......he is a handsome young Korean man and reminds me very much of my former Korean boss (who is much older, but who I worked for when he was this guys age) and so he has always given me a feeling of coming "home." But both of Dr. Kim's parents had Meniere's disease so he devoted his life to curing this illness.

Praying that your surgery goes smoothly and that you have the best case scenario outcome! :)

I'm sorry you don't get to follow through with your plans today. Maybe you need to call SSI and ask them what happened?

:hugs Not being dizzy will keep you lots safer. Plus- you don't need to hear or speak to talk to us. We can be good company. :)

You can work on teaching hand signals to the dogs if you want to do something more productive. It will be fun for them and give you a project, till things are more normal again. Teaching hand signals to your foster dogs might make one of them work out for a deaf person someday.

I was already a believer in hand signals for dogs, I always use them. I read a book called The Other End of the Leash which convinced me that hand signals are THE way to communicate with dogs.

I very much DO appreciate that I don't need to do anything but type in order to communicate with all of you.....believe me, I really appreciate you all very much.

I forgot if you were one of the people that trained with the hand signals or not.

We love you too here. :D You've got a great heart, and lots of interesting stories as a bonus. :hugs

More :hugs from me, and I hope it all works out better than you anticipate. Praying for you.

(and what day is your birthday on next week? Mine's next Wednesday--maybe we are birthday twins :))
Yes!

I have a niece who is due to have a baby any day, she may be born on my birthday as well.
Too cool, you are my first ever birthday twin!

That is awesome, Moolie! :hugs

Hubby got the rabbitry finished yesterday, we had just a "summer" roof on it and now it has a nice metal one with a slope to shed the rain. It is very nice! There are seven cages total, all large enough to be a grow-out cage. That means the two males will always have a nice big cage to themselves. But I'm hoping by this time next year we are providing a lot of our own meat when the three does are all producing. It looks like my bunnies are not going to sell for much when it isn't easter time, but that is okay. Meat is getting really expensive!

We are trying to meet up with the person who wants to buy our ducks. That will put us out of the duck production business, but they were doing poorly and not producing anything. I really don't need two ducks as just pets. I have plenty of those. The person buying them just wants a pet so they are fine for that. I think the person owns a pet store.

The pumpkins are supposed to be doing really poorly this year in my area, but the weird thing is that is one of the few things I grew well this year. I wish I had given them more space. I've already fed the "reject" pumpkins to the chickens when we were low on food and they adored those. And I have a nice fat jack-o-lantern one I've set aside for my granddaughter.

We are back to rain......
