This is Buford. He is 14 1/2 years old and still kicking along pretty well. He is the kindest, most gentle soul....
a couple of years ago (with Elvis, a purple martin I hand raised):

and Rio, my almost 3yr old clown. He is a wonderful dog with tons of personality and energy and he is the very picture of loyalty. Rain, wind, heat, cold he is sitting at the gate waiting for me.

and finally Rags - a 2yr old "all american" dog (mutt) from the local pound. He is also known as "Rags the 'possum killer"

I love that Rio can get himself his own water! Pretty smart!

And Indy reminds me so much of our golden retriever, Raider. I love goldens. They are such nice dogs. Hairy, though! Whenever I sweep, I always seem to have a whole golden retriever in my pile of hair.

Papillion

Bolt is in my avatar right now.

I love collies and 2 --one looking like Lassie, one a black/tan collie. Jimmy and Reggie. Tony had an Aus. Shepard Mica. No digital pics and they are gone from old age now.

I love collies too!

Your little pappilion is a little cutie patootie. My last foster was about that size and I wanted to hide him in my pocket and never give him away! He got an awesome though.

Yours looks very ELEGANT however.....love those butterfly ears!

Collies were my first dog loves. We had a collie/GSD mix that was one of the best dogs ever!
But the Goldens win my heart most of all.

Goldens are seldom in rescue. We have a local group that rescues goldens, but they usually just have elderly dogs. Nothing so good as an old golden though.
When a golden does end up in rescue, the volunteers fight over them! I won with this guy......

He is the inseperable companion of Trouble and of the two, the one with more common sense.

We have Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue here in New England but it's the same situation. Plus they won't let families with kids our son's age rescue. So we did go to a breeder for Indy. Kobi was a rescue as were the three dogs before him and Jack who came after but has since passed on. Stan, the pug, was not exactly a rescue but he was not in a good situation so I guess, semi-rescue would be more appropriate.
