starting to fill in the lower items for the winter and holiday baking---can't believe how expensive baking items have gotten. I have a lot of the basics but some garnishments and items for favorites (like thumbprint cookies and treasure chest bars) seem high in price.

seems like a lot of canned goods are starting to run short--and paper products.

the week before TG dinner is usually a time when a lot of things can get cleared out. this year it will probably be even worse. from what i can see the hospitals are filling up again and more people are getting sick again so ... people have been through this two or three rounds already so they're stocking up for it again.

might be a long winter.

we're about due for a refill on propane so i have to go through my accounts and get the funds together to pay them. the propane company has already bought enough fuel to get them through the season so they've got a fixed price that if we don't use more than so many gallons we'll be ok. after that it is market price whatever that might be but that will also be late spring if needed at all so we'll see how it goes.

our company keep our tank on a schedule, well, for 2 weeks I was smelling what I thought was a propane leek, thought we needed a guy to come out and check things......... or a new stove...........
So monday morning, I cooking, and doing regular morning stuff. I go to get a shower, and didnt get hot water.
We have a tankless hot water heater, so I should have had hot water after turning it on a min. ...NO
So DH goes and checks the tank and it is in ( 0 ) in 9 years it has never got that low,,
So we called the propane company and the truck came out to fill the tank and do a pressure check...
.... ALL was good to go

Come to find out, they are switching to a new schedule system,:duc we should have had a fill up 3 weeks ago, the last time they came out was the end of April
Propane here is $3.99 a gal.
it was a BIG bill to fill the tank :he :caf but it had to be done,,, we now will be checking on the tank level once a month :th

Most places gas here is 3.29 for regular... diesel is up to the 3.85 and some higher. Thankfully we filled the tanks months ago and that was in the 2.40 range here at the farm and home. But got to start using some so it will get rotated out too. I got gas for 3.19 yesterday but it was still over $40 to fill the forester.... OUCH.
Went to Walmart after PT yesterday for a few things since it was on the way to go get milk from the farm.... shelves were okay, some spots empty but better than a month ago. Prices are up more though. Still not much available in the canning area, but I am in good shape with those supplies now. Added a few things to the "stash" but not alot. I'm still pretty "weak" with only being 3 1/2 weeks from the double knee replacements and not alot of energy to do much. Plus PT whips my butt so I was glad to get my milk at the farm and come home.
I look for things to not get much better for at least 1-2 years.... and prices to not come down much if at all.
