Poor Bee.

Keep your home's interior as dark as possible and aim a fan at opening door. That may help a little.

Also there is still a blessing - even in this - he could be using chemical fertilizers. That stuff stinks so bad and you can hardly breathe the fumes - plus who knows what other problems are caused by inhaling THAT stuff. At least this way you know the "Lord of the Flies" is only killing you biologically.

How long does the plague usually last? Does he harrow or till at all?

I planted my garden.
You planted????

Now I'm jealous
All but the raised beds. dh went & got me some sand yesterday for the carrot bed. I have carrots, leaf lettuce, bunching onions, cilantro & more asparagus to plant. But all of that is going in the raised beds & tires. The garden beds are done & started watering this week. 17 tomato plants in all.

OK, phew, our return to winter seems to have blown over. I was able to work outside yesterday afternoon and not get numb fingers! The sun made it feel like spring is gaining momentum. However, there is still snow in the shadows from three days ago. :/

We had the "return to winter" as well. First I am glad that our spring break is next week - my sisters was this week and she has not been able to get much outside work done at all. Hopefully by next week it will be warm enough to start the garden.

Second - I am thankful for the "return to winter" being so prompt. For many of the last few years (with last year excepted) it warmed up around here long enough for all of my fruit trees to blossom and THEN "returned to winter" and killed the fruit harvest or at least damaged it. All of the trees still hard dormant right now - maybe when it does warm up it will stay this time!

Maple Festival starts this weekend. :drool

Neighbor spread his diseased manure in the field next to my house....the smell is so strong it brings tears to my eyes. Ah, spring! I just wish he would use cow manure, is all! :p

Saw a blue bird checking out my bird house yesterday..... :celebrate

I have crocuses(croci?) :D poking up here in the mountains. I've heard several bird calls that I would normally hear in the spring. Plus, of course, all the lambs and calves are the heralds of spring around the corner.

What do you see, hear, or smell in your area that tells us spring is coming. I think this has been a long winter for some of us and we need the inspiration of spring signs! :)
Oh I can't wait to start seeing my plants outside but that's at least another month away before I can start shoveling the snow off them.
The biggest sign of spring around here is when I can open the door to the deck, put up the gate to the stairs and let the dogs come in and out of the house when ever they want (our yard isn't fenced). My almost 2 - 9 month old pups have the "crazies" from all that fresh air...my house will never be the same, lol...but at least they will sleep tonight! Best part is seeing my 7 yr old cancer boy hanging out on one of the dog beds in the sun relaxing and enjoying whatever time he has left.

 Finally, I can post on this topic! It's been a crazy winter here, usually about four feet of snow but this year we got all the snow the first two months and we had three blizzards! Just my luck with having my chickens for the firs year :barnie

There are little tiny water rivers now moving toward the street and ditches and I am guessing that in a couple weeks if the weather holds we may look like Michigan does right now. :th

I don't care, I just want summer and dirt for my veggies I'm planning on canning in the fall. :fl
