Spring begins today!!

We woke to a sprinkling of snow, temps in the 20s to low 30s (depending on if you check the wind chill). We are scheduled to get up to mid 30s today.

The forsythia and maple are covered with buds, the spring bulbs have put out lots of green, and the robins returned to our area last week-end. No green action yet in the asparagus bed.

Yes, it did, at 7:44 am EST. But it's cold here again, down in the 30's, and it isn't supposed to get back into the 50's at all next week. Well, that's what they say, we'll see. I'm not fooled by the equinox, we can and will still get snow right through April.

Yes, we can! Usually Opening Day for the Cleveland Indians. :gig
We don't go anymore, but my now deceased MIL was there every year.

YAY for the first day of spring!

It's a bit nippy here, today, and it was pretty chilly last night. Chicks in the outdoor woodburner fared well for their first cool night outside!

Ticks! Arrrggghh!

Spring has sprung. I found four ticks on me yesterday. I hate ticks!

Oh well, I guess that these will be the first of many.

Luna is munching on greens and the cats are catching chipmunks! No flowers yet but we should be seeing ice pansies in the stores soon.

Already seeing them over this way. A few of the smaller nurseries have they out and saw them at WalMart right at the doors today.

My gardens are almost uncovered from snow. I can't wait to get out and start raking and being able to plan out more flower plantings in them (see how close my winter plans are).
