Oh that thing about the coastline? Yep the sand is full of oil, and medical waste too at times. Plus when you are baking in the sun (more like roasting) and need to cool off, the water is bath water warm and full of jellyfish...the mean ones. :p

A friend's dad got bit by a "mini" rattle snake at Galvaston's beach, I kid you not! He lost his hand and forearm.

My mom always said that everything in TX is out to get ya.

I grew up in a tornado area. It really doesn't bother me too much. If you have a good basement, you are good to go :D
There are no basements in TX either! I've only seen one in my whole 35 years there..coming from WI (too) I was shocked.

I think we need to be somewhere in that white strip.
Hey, I live in the white strip.

In fact, that's the name of my town... White Strip, Oklahoma.

And Zilla, I can live with Yankee rudeness. I can live with Texan territoriality. It's the two mixed in one person that I can't abide. Get a bunch of those one persons in one place and it's just plain intolerable.

And Dallas/Ft Worth (which is where I've lived most) is Yankee Texan Central.

One more reason (and probably the biggest) for me to hate TX---my ex lives there! The roaches, the blistering heat and hurricanes are almost as bad though. :p
"ALLLLL.... my exes live in Texas. Texas is the place I'd truly love to be. But all my exes live in Texas, and that's why I hang my hat in Tennessee."

First time my wife saw a Texas cockroach she thought it was a mouse. Then she thought it was fake.

Till it moved.

And when your power goes out for 11 days from some hurricane you have to break out the candles etc and sit outside to try to find some sort of a breeze. Guess what giant flying cockroaches are attracted to? You guessed it...FUN I tell ya!

My fave thing about Colorado: no real bugs.

LOL. Our "cockroaches" are about 1 inch long and polite. They're like the Jiminy Crickets of the cockroach community.

Also, we have all four seasons. But I wouldn't mind more rain. I'm moving with Auntie. *beams* Because of my fabric. Silk brocades.

Oh. And I cook and clean and Max likes me.

Silk. Brocades.

Yeah, some people say everything is bigger in Texas. Nope. Just the egos and the cockroaches.

An Oklahoman friend of mine said he was 19 before he realized "d*** Texan" wasn't one word, his daddy said it so much.

But I gotta say, some of my favorite people live in Texas. My daughter, my brother, his kids...

Which really ticks me off because I have to go down there to visit them.
