This is the first time I've seen a porcupine since I've lived in MA. When I lived in ME ('76-'93) I saw them regularly. I lived in Madawaska, which means "Land of the Porcupine."

I have never seen a porcupine here but my brother sees them frequently in the western part of the state. But he is in the deep woods hiking a lot.
