Ya know, when I was 13 my aunt gave me a picture Bible which I read and enjoyed.
I have tried to read the Bible on my own but my head spins....so to have you all hear to help decipher it is a real blessing.

Thank you BB for starting this thread :thumbsup
Dace I used to feel the same way about reading the bible. I have a copy of the New King James Version, and also a copy of the Chronological bible that I study from. The Chronological bible is SOOOOOO very cool! It goes into details about customs and the era that the folks lived in, background culture, etc. etc. and just brings everything into view. It also of course is in Chronological order ;) So, the things that happen in the bible, as they happen, different folks are writting about them, and it can get confusing, but with that version, it lays it all out on the same few pages. Like Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John basically tell the story from each of their perspectives, so chapter one of each book would be studied and compared together. It is very interesting to study that way and not have to flip back and forth in your regular bible!! You should try to check one out from your local library if they have a copy. They're FUN, and brainbending at the same time

That sound very cool wannabe, I will be looking for that bible. If you guys don't mind, if it is still open for discussion I would prefer to do chapter two tomorrow. I have some notes on it, but am having a difficult time concentrating today, and I want to give it the dedication it needs. If yo guys move on, it's no biggie. Wannabe, do you also have a book that you use for original translations of bible text?

I have not been baptized yet. Well, I was as an infant, but in my belief system, that doesn't count. i was raised in a Chrsitian Reformed church. I strayed during my teen years, and started seeking out Jesus when my youngest was born. I have been to several different churches over the years (12 years, 7 different churches, three different towns.) I always planned on getting baptized. The church I go to now will be the one I will get baptized in, hopefully this summer.
