Yes, thanks all, I think the situation at work will be better. She said she'd make good on the bad checks soon.

Wanted to comment more, on this thread and several others. Not ignoring anyone, but my kitty is having another attack much more serious. Treatment from before is not helping. Been reading and I think maybe an acute asthma attack. No vets open here at night and I'm really not sure how I'd pay just now. If she makes it thru the night I'll see if they will see her in am. Thanks all.

the only thing I can think to suggest is to put the kitty in a steamy room or area?

Thanks Savingdogs. :)

I did try that yesterday evening. It may have helped a little, but she's in pretty bad respiratory distress. She is still alive this am. Not improved, maybe breathing even faster and shallower, but she is also calmer -- I guess because it's been some hours now.

I don't want to turn this thread into a thread about my kitty though, especially since we just now got some OT (edited to change - some ON TOPIC) discussion going on. If anyone would pray for the situation, that is MUCH appreciated. I'm going to move it to my journal though -- I have time before the vets open and before I have to decide what to do about work too. I would feel bad about hijacking this thread beyond asking for prayer though. Thanks for your suggestion; I appreciate that. :)

And Bambi, SOOOOO glad to hear the update on baby Matthew. I had wondered how his surgery went. I think we have 4 recent prayer requests, and it's good to hear good feedback on all of them. Praise God! And I will continue to keep baby Matthew in prayer. :)

Sorry to further derail us but I have a question.

A woman at ur church is starting a womens bible study, so I emailed her to get the details.

She replied that they will be reading Breaking Free by Beth Moore. I was immediately suspicious because in my home we keep very traditional roles and I was curious about the message of the book, based on the title.

I found a lot of information about Beth Moore and her book, most of it negative and stating that she is not teaching biblical truth.

So do I politely decline or do I point out what I have read?I have no idea if they randomly chose this book or if she is a fan of the author.

I do not want to offend but it seems to me that following someone who is twisting doctrine is sinful....and me sitting quietly and not bringing it to her attention is also sinful.
Granted, I have not read the book so maybe my best bet is to politely decline.

I personally LOVE Beth Moore studies, and she does teach the gospel. Our church was offering that study also this past wniter, but I didn't go, due to the fact that it was winter, and my church is 50 minutes away. You can't trust our winters that the roads willb e clear, so I usually don't do winter studies.

Where are yo ufinding info that she is twisting doctrine???

MTN....to be honest, that is exactly why I asked you all! I know that you can find anything on the Internet and that does not mean it is correct. I found several links earlier, but this is what I am finding now....I am feverish and a little loopy. Perhaps there was not more. :hu

Of course there are a lot of positive reviews as well.....but I am just not knowledgeable to make my way thru fact vs fiction.

I really enjoy Beth Moore and I think she does speak from the gospel as well. She does and outstanding job at keeping your attentions and she really encourage you to read for your self what she is teaching. I also notice she does not alot of time time state my word is the only truth but encourage the follower to study. I will have to say she is hyper and if this makes you nervous you could have a hard time listening. I would join in any bible study she gives without hesitation. So what topic or word are we going to discuss. I love learning and listening to everyones ideas so how about it?

Dace, I listened to about 16 minutes of that extreme theology, and you know, he is right, from what i heard. Now, I dont have the time today, or at least now to listen to the whole thing. and he is only giving bits an peices of what Beth is saying, so I would need to listen to the whole thing. Best thing I can say is. Go in with an open mind. There have been other things in her studies that made me question things and look them up, and it's been a while so I can't give you an example, but.. that being said, she is very inspirational and will motivate you to want to learn more. If something that anyone says that does not sit right with you, question it, and seek out the truth from the only reliable source. THe Holy Bible. And don't be afraid to question other people, if you need help. but don't take one humans word as scripture. Satan loves to attack bible teachers, cuz the effect is much greater than just one person. Just pray diligently that God give you the discernment to know the truth from untruth. And pray for all bible teachers to be protected from satan.
