Do we have to wait until Sun. to participate in this thread? :)
I hope not. I for one would enjoy reading more on what others in the passages we have read so far.

This is the first place I check when I log on!

Hey, where did you get that halo emoticon? I don't have that one in my selection. It is quite appropriate for this thread in particular, don't you think?
I love to use the emoticons!! I have a vast collection! I look for them in all kinds of places. Right clicking is such fun!!

One I have yet to find that I want is one that is patting itself on the back.

There has to be one out there someplace.

Thank you for welcoming me into this thread :)

I have a little something to contribute to the discussion in the way of experiences that I have had.

We are to be ambassadors for Christ, to show His love and compassion to our fellow man with our Christlike nature. Regardless of race, religion, heritage, or creed, we are all God's creation. The bottom line is that there are swine in every culture, and we are not to associate ourselves with them. We are to associate with sinners though, because we are to strive to live as Christ lived. We do not have to sin with them, but to be a living example of Jesus Christ and his love for all mankind.

I once had a man whom I was passing by in a convenience store. He was a different race than I am, and I smiled at him, that was all, a simple smile. I had been praying in my car before I stopped, and communing with Christ, and I was very joyful. He stopped dead in his tracks, looked at me, and said "You are a Christian aren't you?". I said yes, I am. We spoke for a few minutes and I walked away. I have never seen this man again, but He seen Jesus in me that day. I have no idea how life has turned out for him, but he was put in my path that day for a reason.

At this point in time, i do not have a church home. However, I had been attending a church out in the country, you know the type, where everyone's grandpa knew your grandma and there is not a single person who attends that hasn't been born and raised in the area. I started attending there and I was not originally from the area. We had a new gentleman who started coming to Sunday school class, pretty regularly, who was an outsider, like me, but was also of a different race. One Sunday morning he wanted to contribute something to the class. He was unburdening his heart of sin, and I believe that he was wanting to confess, repent and accept Christ. It became so silent in there you could hear a pin drop. No one acknowledged he had spoken, no one welcomed his experiences, and he was reaching out to the class for help. I spoke, but I was the only one. The coldness in that room was not Christlike at all. This man was just different than us, and he was immediately judged based on his race, and promptly discarded. I kept attending for a short while after this incident until I realized that these are exactly the type of people we are to separate ourselves from.
We are to separate ourselves from those that call themselves believers, but live in such a way as to bring dishonor to the Holy One. Also we are separate ourselves from teachers of false doctrines
I am longing for a church to call home, and was so excited upon finding this thread because I miss group study, I miss the shared hope and love that is found in communing with other believers. I am very excited to be here.

There is to be enough difference in us that the casual observer will be able to look upon our lives and give the Holy One credit for the differences they see.

Matthew 5:16 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Amen! :)

Those are....heavenly....how do I get them into my group of emoticons?
Feel free to PM me so that I don't hitch hike our thread here.

Sheavlance I'm looking for a church to call home as well, I have not fit well with most that I have tried.

We are now in a house church. Best switch we could ever have done.
Granted we do not all see eye to eye, but its so much nicer to be in a small group where we actually know everyone!

I say small, if you can call 100 small. But all the families are HUGE!
And yes, we squeeze into a house to meet. Barely
