Praying! Being thankful reminds me of the days I'm most thankful for- the ones that are 75 and sunny and the ones that are cold, precipitating, and stormy. First type makes me thankful for the outdoors and beauty He has given us and the other for a warm house, and good food. Bee I am learning to be like you. I try to thank Him through the day for the big and little things.

I thought of this thread while I was feeding the horses today and found myself thanking God that I have the horses, that they all have food right now, that they're not kept in stalls, and that they have shelter in the case of bad weather. God knows I still need more hay, but He knows how He's going to provide it even if I don't. I just need to trust him. I'm trying to spend more time praying. Plus, I've started to memorize the book of Galatians. I'm a bit behind right now because of the pink eye-my eyes hurt too much to do much of anything, but I'm back to it now. And, I've started reading thru the Bible again and am spending more time in Bible study.

While I'd never want to feel that pressed for reading, it was actually good for me and a bit humbling. I've always felt that I know the Bible fairly well. But, reading it like I did showed me how little I actually know.

Ditto that, Deb! I am going to read and re-read the Bible until the words are in there for good. I don't care how long it takes me until this happens...I can't remember verses like most folks but I can read it and read it until the general gist of it comes to my mind more readily. I'm starting to take time each day for kneeling in prayer and then talking to God per usual throughout the day.

I didn't used to pray much unless I needed help...which was pretty often..but it was still all about me and my needs. That was back when I hadn't given God control of my life and my life went from one disaster to another. Things are different now, Thank God from the bottom of my sinful heart!

Now when disaster hits, I can laugh and ask God what He wants me to do. I wait to see what He will do. And I try to listen to what He may want me to do. That is an every day practice and struggle for a strong minded, stubborn person like myself.... :he Still workin' on it....

I think every day is a new day to get to know God more closely and I'm trying to remember that relationships of all kinds are a two way street. Even my relationship with God....what have I done for Him lately, you know? Instead of asking for help so much, I praise and ask for His will in my life instead. Pick me! Send me! Here I am!!! :frow

I am learning. He has done so much for me that I have learned to just rely on him to take care of it all but I do have issues with patience and wanting to take it into my own hands. Or wondering when I should act or just leave it to Him. I know he knows my needs and will take care of them. I want to ask for certain things but I just hate too because they seem so unimportant compared to the big things. Like I need a buck to breed to my doe but im broke and don't have a pickup....lol I have learned to praise His name no matter the circumstances. I can see and block Satans attacks more clearly now. I am learning to pray scripture and be a prayer warrior. I can actually read the bible and understand more of it when before it was all too confusing. And I have a peace like never before AND a desire to TELL OTHERS!

That's great! Something I've been doing more and more is turning over things in my life to God. If I let Him be in control instead of trying to figure out everything myself, I find that I have more peace and more blessings. This includes my dreams. God knows that I want my own farm, but I've turned that dream over to Him. If He chooses to instead place me in the middle of a big city, it would be for my good, even though I wouldn't be able to see it.

I'd definately have pickled jalapenos, because I thanked Jesus right there in the aisle pretty loudly when I found our favorite brand on the shelf today! Some little woman grinned at me :hu  I'd have food and a several other things...I'm not sure what all I thank Him for throughout the day. i seem to always be thanking Him for something. I'd probably be nekkid though :p I don't think I have thanked Him for clothes...just slips my mind. Interesting question though!

Glad your FIL is okay Morel!! :hugs

Wow!!! Me too!!! Do you think we are experiencing these things because He is getting us ready for the spiritual battles that are becoming more present during these last days? I never used to talk about God except with my near and dear friends and immediate family but now I can't stop talking about Him and what He has done for me and what He can do for others if they only trust Him.

I thought I was just getting...you know...er...fanatical in my old age. :p

I think, and the Scriptures say, that we can even ask Him for things like rabbits when we have a need. Nothing is too small or big for Him to notice and accomplish...His eye is on the sparrow! Think about the magnitude of a God who knows the doings of every minute creature on Earth....I can't even wrap my mind around it! :th

When I am in my car driving is when I talk to the Lord and thank him the most I think...and ironically enough when I am sitting out on the porch having my coffee in the morning. ( as a smoker I sit out there with my coffee every morning, no matter how cod it is:) LOL!I do thank him daily, but for different things, not always everything though :) He has shown me many marvelous things in the last couple of years, and the latest is getting over fears...soooo thankful for that part!
I am also thankful that I have a Christian boss...going to work is often very spiritually refreshing, and we have great conversations there! Life really is good, no matter what is going on to discourage, if you stay close to Him and accept that whatever is happening is happening for a reason, either to teach you, someone else, or both!
It is so enouraging to be able to come to this thread and see where the Lord is leading you all, and to learn from the many experiences you all post.

Oh yes, and WBF....clothing...good point! LOL! Can you imagine? I sure can't
