I agree with the 2-3 day thing. Maybe Tues, Thurs, and Sunday? Fortunately, I'll be heading back to work next Monday, and a chapter per day will be hard for me too.

I do sincerely appreciate the support I've been shown, I like the idea of an online church!!!!
I meant more like a chapter for Sunday through Wednesday, and a chapter for Thursday through Saturday, but that might work too if everyone else is in agreement. Actually it'd kinda be the same thing except 2 chapters every week instead of 1. Instead of assigning days to meet, we could just all go at our own pace, and respond as we get time while covering 2 chapters every week and discussing them here at our leisure.

Your idea is better, IMHO

I would really appreciate doing 2 chapters a week. I found myself so busy this past week I was not able to participate like I had planned. Just when I had some good thought s to share we were on a different chapter!

Barred Buff I really like Ecclesiastes. It is my favorite book for when I am having a pity party. It really makes me feel better. But I was thinking, maybe we should stick to the new testament for a while. There are some newer believers and some who are just wanting to learn more about the Bible. The new testament might be easier to grasp.

I just finished Ecclesiastes 1 and I have to say......for a person who does not have salvation this must seem the most depressing book of the bible EVER WRITTEN. I read it first of course from my own perspective and thought eh :hu I got Jesus, which made me think...well what if ya didn't? THEN I read it from a not saved perspective and wanted to cry for those who don't have Christ and the promise of something better. This chapter makes me very thankful for my ETERNAL salvation!! Without God in our lives it truly is just a humongous void of meaningless activities. Ya live, ya work your booty off, have a few laughs, slog through the rough spots alone, and then you die. What kind of life is that?!?!? You can chase the wind if ya want but it's still just air in the end and there is no control of it....just the same as it was when Solomon wrote this book. The meaningful quality of life comes only from the spirit. WHAT A REMINDER!!! Wonderful simplicity, gotta love it! Building up things of this life is futility at it's finest. Building up things of the spiritual nature is the only true way to "get ahead" on anything worth having. Our future is built on Christ. There is no other way to put it. I'm in a very appreciative mood today :)

I love morning study! What if I had slogged through the whole day without this message? It is easy to get caught up in things that are going on that you really have no control over. I could have had a rotten day but this realization has brought me a quiet peaceful heart, not a care in the world now :) PRAISE GOD I have His word to lift me up!!!

I thought of it not because it's depressing, but to remind us there needs to be a higher purpose to our life beyond our day-to-day existence. I thought with the start of a new year, it might be appropriate. :hu

I especially like the the second line where it says all is vanity. It reminds us that everything we do is just for vanity and will be gone in time. Kinda makes everything seem unimportant except for Christ which lasts forever.

I have a little free time right now, I think I'm going to go get a cup of tea and read the rest of the book while I have some piece and quiet
