It's a chronological bible. They have a lot of cultural background included as study guide. They are awesome study tools. You can get them on Amazon, and Ebay. They run around 50 bucks, but well worth it!

Maybe I am just a strange person after all. I don't find Eccl. to be depressing at all. When I read about a great man of the Bible who faces the same down-trodden spirit I sometimes feel myself, it makes me really appreciate my Creator who included the good, the bad and the ugly in his Holy Word so that I have someone to relate to. I think that is why Jesus was born poor, Thomas was chosen as an apostle, the first person granted eternity was a thief on the cross beside Jesus and why adulteresses and tax collectors play such an integral role. I dearly, dearly love Eccl. (but don't like spelling it :) ).

sheaviance1, I agree! It doesn't depress me, merely confirms what I have come to know anyway. My sights should not be focused on Earthly endeavors, which is one of the reasons I have really backed away from all my prep-like SS projects.

There is a fine line between being prepared for things and wanting to have supplies and food on hand....and using all my time and thoughts on this instead of preparing for my Heavenly home and my stay there. I've grown very uninterested in the comings and goings on this Earth as they pertain to man's survival and sustaining theirselves.

I feel God wants me to focus, rather, on leaving this place and doing God's work before I do so. Consider the lilly, it neither toils nor spins, but none have raiment such as it has. God provides in times of trouble and need, so I am working on my store of faith rather than my store of food.

Cindi, is there one particular Chrono. Bible you have or recommend....I'm looking on Amazon and they have many, many types and publishers. Can you describe what is meant by the "chronological" part? Does it have everything a normal Bible would have?

Bee the only difference between a Chronological bible and others is the order of the scripture contained. Think of a timeline, this is a biblical timeline, it orders the book in the order in which they happened, and gives background information of the culture and goings on of the time that the scripture is taking place. Several passages from different books may be on the same page. From Genesis to Revelation, all are covered, just in the order in which they happened, will happen. Interesting way to study ;)

ETA: I have the New King James Version Chronological Study Bible. I got it because I have the NKJV bible too. I like the up to date language and terminology this version uses.

Wanna, the ones I see on Amazon kind of describe the chrono as being a one year study guide to the Bible....is this the same as yours? 365 days with a daily devotional that covers the Bible in a year.

When you describe yours, it sounds as if the scriptures are arranged in the order in which the events actually happened. Am I correct?

So, if this is so, how does one make sure they are not just ordering a big study guide and not an actual Bible with all the essential scriptures? Or does yours have both? Is yours a "one year" Bible or is it an actual Bible with just lots of references about languages, translations, geography?

BTW, the ones on Amazon are a good price....none are near the $50 range. Maybe because they are the wrong ones?
