God smiles on me EVERY day, it's my own fault I don't always recognize it for what it is.

My Savior Loves! My Savior Lives!!
My Savior's ALWAYS there for me!
My God He was, my God He is,
My God He's ALWAYS gonna be!!

I have had the bestest morning, day, afternoon, night, and tomorrow is a new day that I am LOOKIN FORWARD TO! I hope evryone else is as BLESSED! :hugs to everyone :)

Yay, BB & wanna....I am happy that you are relishing in God's greatness!

So this verse hit me.... 1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:

I have been feeling empty, but had not recognized it. I think that I am coming down from two very busy seasons (coaching cheer followed by Christmas). I had been riding high with boundless joy in my heart for a long time and now I just feel empty.

I was also riding high because I have been giving food to the homeless, and just like a druggie, the effect is less and less. I mean that when we would hand someone a bag my heart would just be bursting with joy.....I am still so thankful that I am able to do a small deed such as this to help someone, but I am simply getting numb to it perhaps. I thought of maybe getting up early on the weekend and making breakfast burritos and coffee and going downtown and passing them out to the many homeless there.....but do I have an ulterior motive? Am I doing this so that I feel superior?

We are the same as animals physically, dust to dust, only our loyalty and joyful service bring us closer to God so that our souls can live on forever....what we have, what we drive, what we live in is completely meaningless. Good reminder.

I prayed last night that God would show me the path that He has for me.

Also, I have a 30 minute drive by myself every day to pick up my son from school. I usually listen to Christian radio but at this time of day it turns political and I really do not enjoy it. I am looking for good recommendations of books on tape if anyone has any suggestions.....most books these days have audio versions and I can listen as I drive :thumbsup

I am glad that I have you all here to anchor me when I am feeling
adrift! :hugs

Dace three words...Peace, be still. I don't think it is about feeling superior. I think the new is wearing off of the giving high, and maybe that is not where God wants you, but where YOU want you at this particular moment. I go through that A LOT. When I get feeling like you are, I try to shut everything around me down when I realize it, and just take a listen. Sometimes you just can't hear what the Lord is saying if you're so busy rattling bags and scurrying about DOING things ;)

That 30 minute drive would be a great opportunity to just listen, not to the radio, or a tape, but to what His Spirit is saying to yours. I tend to get wrapped up in what I think of as service, get caught up in the deed and not the Spirit He is sharing with me, and feel just like you described :hugs There is always a change in the seasons, that's a GOOD thing!!

I read Ecclesiates 3 and I can feel the season in my life changing as well. I watched a few videos and listened to some new Christian music last night with hubby. My spirit is going through a season of renewal at the moment, and I am caught up in the rejoicing as is the hubs. He's writing again :D This book has really reminding me of just how much we are to lean on the strength of Christ and not our own selves....and I'm lovin it!
I hope all of you have a lovely day, I will be whistling while I work

Thank you Wanna.....the being still and listening is very difficult for me. Guess that is a good reason to work on it

My difficulty with the 30 minute drive, is that if my mind does not get some stimulation I start to get drowsy....so that may not be the best 'quiet time' for me :/ but I get your point....more quiet listening time :thumbsup

Dace, I was going to suggest the same as Wanna - use the time to pray and think, and listen ;) I, used to spend time listening to Christian radio, or audio books, but I realized I was staying busy doing good, not doing good staying busy (hope that made sense). Once I turned the radio off, and started praying and then really listening, my attitude had a turnaround.

Also, see if you can find the Bible on tape/cd (don't know what you've got in your vehicle). They make nice dramatized versions (still only scripture, but different male/females reading it, with music and stuff in the background, as if you're listening to a good radio program). Makes it easier to get in the daily Bible time, that way!

Dace, do you not have a K-LOVE station near you that you could listen to? Also, have you looked at 'through the bible with Les Feldick?' http://lesfeldick.org/ You can download them in MP3 format. Maybe you could listen to that in the car. I really enjoy quiet time inthe car, I don't have a sleepy problem though. However, I can't really pray, I start not paying attention to the road when i do that.

Bethanial....quiet listening is a challenge for me, but I am going to work on it. What is hard is that my attitude is good, I don't think I need a turn around, I just need the next project, goal, 'thing' to focus on/work on. You know? I just am not sure what my focus should be. Gosh, maybe it is just spring fever coming early?

I sort of feel Proverbs and Psalms calling me. This morning I am going to get my chores done and spend some time with my bible and see where that takes me.

MissNorth....we get KPraise and I really enjoy listening, in fact I am always eager to jump in the car to run errands and often find myself parked just so that I can finish listening to a segment
I love the idea of the Bible on audio, that is a really great idea. I don't mind the silence sometimes, but in this drive, which has me in the car for a little over an hour round trip if I don't get mental stimulation I find myself grabbing coffee or worse...CANDY to keep me awake :smack

Thank you al for the input and ideas :hugs

I just heard the KLove station for the first time ever as I was travelling today and I cried with joy all the way across the state until the station fizzled out. I so wish we had that station where I live!!! Great, great music!

Got my chrono Bible....that didn't turn out to be a Bible at all! :( Just a guide.....

I'll get it right next time! :p
