They were headed to pay my electric bill :celebrate

I had a check that would not only cover the house payment now a week past due, but also a phone bill that is automatically taken out of my account on the 6th!! :weee

Not to mention, the Providence of the job I currently have, ... allowed us to get chicken feed ... gas to go to church ... and my hubby's meds
Praise God!!!!!! That is SUCH good news. I've had things like that happen (could use another intervention on a thing or two too, Lord!) and it is always SO good for the faith. :) I'm glad for you, and glad you feel loved because of it. :)

Now all I have to do is remember this lesson. ;)
AMEN TIMES TEN!!! That's what I always hope for ... to remember my lessons. They are sometimes more painful re-learning them. ;)

Peter looks at it, puzzled, then asks, why'd you bring pavement?
THIS....now this is classic and one of the funniest and saddest things I've heard of late!

I can't remember the verse right now but it's something about what profiteth a man if he gains the universe but loses his soul....

Do you know just how many people are scrambling desparately right now to buy up gold and silver, store food, guns and ammo, buy things that will become more valuable in the event of economic or civil unrest/collapse in the US? Trying so hard to come up with something the spells security and calling it wisdom and aforethought that THEY have prepared and others just didn't get in on it? So very many.

No security here on Earth. Life and fortunes can change on a dime and in the twinkling of an eye~no matter how much you think you have prepared your earthly home or finances.

And then there is true wisdom.....

While I was pondering creation, I asked myself, how does a mouse, also one of God's creations, glorify Him? The only answer, and the simplest, most gratifying one, is by being a mouse. It does not strive to be more than what it is. It eats, it sleeps, it scurries, it is a mouse. It does not partake upon a quest for knowledge of the way that the world works, it simply is.
LOVE this discussion and love how much I can drink from these waters....cold and clear! :drool

Wanna, I am so pleased that you are now floating, buoyed up by faith in God and His amazing grace and love! When I first learned this truth, it took me many, many more lessons to really trust it...and even today I can feel that worry tighten my neck and I have to give myself a mental kick in the pants and say, "Stop it! Dad will take care of it!" :D

Morning Has Broken and In the Garden...a few of my many faves. Some of those old gospel songs are so fun to sing, easy to give voice to.

Speaking of remembering lessons ...

I keep telling myself I am gonna start a new scrapbook. One that reminds me of prayers answered when it seemed like there was no way, and I got an amazing answer. Or friends' lives where it looked like there was no hope, and they ended up rejoicing.

Not just every little story (but that would be good in it's own way too) but the ones that REALLY make you sit up and shout and rejoice in your faith.

I think I need to go back over and remind myself of those things. Often.

Last night I got my kids to read the first coupla chapters. I talked to ds this morning as he was eating breakfast, and asked him what he though of the first chapter. (he read 1-3) he said it totally depressing. Good thing we have a reason to live.
I'll have to go back and reread chapter two to give a commentary on my thoughts, I also read and reread the first three chapters last night. DD is in te shower rightnow, so I haven't asked her what her take on it is, although she is usually more wordy than my son. ( and a bit more insightful, although ds can be profound at times)

Thanks Barred buff, this has turned into a family bible study--I even got dh to read the first three chapters last night. :D
