Ok. I have a confession to make.

I have not read Revelations. I have read the whole bible from Genesis, up to the first coupla chapters of REvelations, but have alwasys stopped. I have reread many books of the bibile over and over again.

I can not bring myself to read revelations. Can we do it next? I really really want to understand it whenI do read it. It seems it is of a great importance in these times.

I'm interested in Revelations as well. I'm in a similar place on it as Miss the north. I originally joined this thread because I wanted to see how that book of the Bible could be made fascinating, and BB said that it was.

Well I just got back to read this and I had a LOT of reading to do to get almost caught up. Things are definately changing. I read an article about Obama where an artist had a sculputure of him riding down the streets on a donkey, comparing him to Jesus. That has bothered me ever since. I read it a while back. Here it is.
http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=87040

Does that really bother anyone else? I know it sure the heck bothers me.
I have also been increasingly bothered by churches who are teaching what is different from the bible. Honestly it has left me confused and now i feel like the only thing I can truly rely on for the truth is the bible itself and not teachings. This year we quit celebrating Christmas. And , I know this sounds stupid, but the song "Deck the Halls" really bothers me. That was a part of why no more Christmas. (along with a few other things that happened at the same time) But with people pulling from all directions to go one way or another it is hard to get your bearings without a LOT of scripture reading. I have always been a Christian, but I fell away and now I am trying to become a REAL christian, not just in name. I feel kinda like I am learning it all over again, even though I never quit believing, I had never done anything other than listen at church before. I can feel the Lord tugging at me hard, but I don't know where to go.

Rebecca that picture really irks me! And lots of us dont do Christmas like most do. But Im a youngin and I reallly have no say in that department.

Dace, tribulation is the 7 year period when God's wrath is brought upon all people. Pretribulation is the time before tribulation. The rapture is a thought that God's people will be saved from his wrath. BUT Im starting to doubt it because the Bible says that people will be saved during the tribulation. My point is how could there be people saved during tribulation without any Christians left to administer the doctrine. Revelations also speaks of the martyrs during Tribulation.

Savingdogs and miss_thenorth, I wouldnt care to do Revelations but we need to get to know each other better because this book can cause arguments and feuds. And if we do Revelations, do know that we could possibly lose our thread because of feuds. But I firmly think we should do it so every person is educated about it. Because "Blessed are those who heed the words in this prophecy"......Revelations..

Ahhhh.....very thoughtful, BB. Because it is subject to different interpretation is probably why it interests me, but I'm glad you are looking out for the health of our little group here, very smart. You are wise beyond your years.

I just read Ecclesiastes Chapter 3. I liked this one better than any other chapter.

Verses 1 thru 8 I liked. Im not sure why but I liked em.

Verse 17: I said in my heart, God will judge the righteous and the wicked, for there is a time for every matter and for every work.
I loved this verse!

Verse 20: Both go to the same place--they came from dust and they return to dust.
For some reason the dust to dust thing runs through my head often.

I want to pull your attention towards Isaiah Chapter 66 Verse 6 to

A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that renders recompense to his enemies.
I think this verse points to Revelations.

James, there doesn't need to be any Christians around during the tribulation in order for people to be saved. First off, there's all those that we have already witnessed to, that haven't accepted Christ yet. I'm sure some of those will become believers after the rapture.

2ndly, the Bible will still be here. Many people have been saved just thru reading the Bible itself. While some portions are hard to understand, others are quite easy, like John 3:16.

3rdly, the Holy Spirit is the one that teaches believers. And, even after the rapture, the Holy Spirit will still be doing His job.

There are many reasons I could get into as to why I believe the rapture will come b4 the tribulation, but this study is on Ecclesiastes, so I'll wait to share more until we study on that. :hugs
