Jesus was there from the beginning. He is and was a part of God from before creation. In John Chapter 1:1-4 says He was.
So do you believe that it was Jesus that was sent as an angel in the old testament?
I believe prior to the birth of Christ as the Messiah, He was not called Jesus, but came in other forms, yes.
I love that I learn so much from you guys! I have heard that many believe that messenger angels were Jesus pre-incarnate.... But I jumped in a gave an answer that had not been fully thought out!
Sorry Bambi!

Dace~I see what you mean now. I'm not sure that it has any significance anyway if it holds none to you personally. Besides...we all sin, even still..so it is an admission...isn't that what we're supposed to do anyway, admit, repent, etc. :hu Maybe it is good to hold onto a reminder that we're no better than anyone else ;)

bambi~you're welcome :)

I did a LOOOOOOONG study on Melchisedek before coming to this conclusion myself. so, I'm pretty firm in my belief on that one, making that an easy question for me  ;)

So no special symbolism of colored beads....aside from the reminders that they represent I mean? As in anyone can wear any of the colors?

I know that this is a silly question but I am going to wear this new slightly fancier cross to a funeral tomorrow where I will be meeting my Husband's business partner's Pastor.....I just don't want to look like an idiot. Since wearing a cross is new to me I do not know if there are 'rules' about it you know?

None that I have ever heard of as in mainstream knowledge of today...maybe centuries ago there was some stigma attached to certain colors or something and this is where that information came from. I'd wear it. :hu

Dace, I would say that you bought that cross for your own reasons and no matter what it is composed of, you should wear it for your own reasons.

I don't wear a cross but it's not because I don't believe in it...I just don't wear jewelry much. It gives me the willies to have something around my neck and wrist and I even have a hard time wearing rings. I don't possess any jewelry at all...weird, huh? I never really thought about it 'til now but I just don't have any.

Thanks Wanna! I appreciate your thoughts :)

Some times new things can be a struggle for me.....I always worry about hidden meanings....and being oblivious to them!

Thanks Bee! I don't wear jewelry often, but I am really taking pleasure in wearing the cross I have. It is comforting.

I know a lady who loves belts. She has many many custom made, ornate, crystal laden, cross belts.....crosses along the sides, as the belt buckle....etc. Very flashy. They make me uncomfortable and I feel somehow that it is sacrilegious to wear a cross near your crotch (for lack of a better description) so I guess that makes me wonder if there is something strangely inappropriate about my new cross with beads!

Thanks guys :)

 Dace, you are so funny! I guess I never would have thought about it that way...wearing a cross near one's crotch.

I think it would be more sacrilegious wearing it as simply an ornament or an accessory than the actual location of the cross. Using something as sacred as the cross, which commonly symbolizes the death of Christ, as a fashion accessory seems a little more crass to me.
