What a great read!

There are so many things I'd like to do, but are difficult when you have a wife and kids that are accustomed to a certain way of living / lifestyle.

Fun to read about others though, and at least I have my own PV solar system to make me feel at least a little self sufficient.

:thumbsup

I was thinking, 'put on some soft music: serve some wine', oh, what?! How to make a baby? Better slow down my reading!

DD, It was called "how to start with a baby" about home schooling. Us speed readers got a brief shock and a laugh at ourselves.

Well my internet is down again. It's got something to do with my computer. wireless connection wizard is no where to be found. I spend several hours trying to get back on last night without even getting close. I need a new computer. I spent the rest of the day backing up my files to a zip drive. When i get a new netbook, im going to take an axe to that old piece of s&!^ until im completey worn out.
Once again im completely broke. I may be gone for a while, or only pop in now and then, because i can't afford the gas to come to the library every day. I guess my life is always going to be a series of problems to be solved. As soon as i fix one thing, something else breaks down. I find it ironic that i have a 70 year old radio that picks up perfectly clear am radio, static free, with no antenna connected, and the original tubes. It's never been repaired, and has been sitting in my old house since the 1940's. Yet the crap they make today can't pick up a signal more than 100 feet away, and breaks in less than a year!

Recently I read about a guy that buys old computers at the DAV or wherever for $20 or less. He said most of them were trashed because they have viruses, malware, etc. He wrote that these computers won't handle a bunch of Window applications, but they handle other ones easily. He wipes the hard drive completely and installs Linux.
My son loves Ibuntu which is another open source system. He installed it on a dinosaur computer we had (that we actually were going to trash) and the stupid thing works like a charm when he's using Ibuntu.

Sorry, no other details were given, but it actually made sense to me.
