Good to see you on here, even if only for a little bit.

Well i got plenty of food and electricity, but cash and gas are in short supply. Wish i had an electric car or bike. My old gas guzzler keeps me confined. I miss being able to come on here at night (the library closes early) and hangout with the night owls: DD, SD, FF, etc, people in the west.
I want a new laptop or netbook so bad i can taste it. Right now, there's no work on the horizon. So once again, i might be absent for a while. I will miss my SS friends!

Just managed to pop in today by rolling some pennies. Its been a hectic couple of days. I spent all day yesterday planting blackberries and butternut squash. I dont think any vegetable stores as well and as long as butternut squash. I like to use it in soups or pumpkin pies, or just eat it like a baked sweet potato.
The plums are done, but i still have some blueberries and the tomatoes are still coming, a little bit of squash and cucumbers, and plenty of greens. This is how people are supposed to eat. From the garden right to the table.
Unless i get a call this week, i will probably just stay home. Chat with ya'll later.

I love butternut squash! I stored some one winter just in our basement and they kept until February- it was great. My only problem is not killing myself with the knife while I'm opening one

Peel 'em with a tater peeler, then split them lengthwise into 1/2 inch slabs. Roll them in olive oil, sprinkle on salt, pepper and minced garlic and then put that butternut squash on the grill until it caramelizes a light brown. YUM!!!

Well im back! finally got a new netbook! Same crappy connection though. Tomorrow i hope to get a wifi repeater to boost the connection to my friend's router. Sure is nice of him to leave it on all the time; but then again, i am providing him with vegetables as a form of bartering.
Just spent most of last week working a rental redo. Basically painted and repaired dozens of things around the house. The lady i worked for was probably the nicest, most easy-going customer ive ever had. She was very thankful for all my hard work, and thought my fee was cheap, so she added some on for my gas. Nice to get a bonus like that. So far, this little netbook is pretty easy to use. Its an asus E pc, with the energy star label. The battery is supposed to last almost nine hours. I hope to spend many hours chating and catching up with my ss friends!
