Hi yall! Its been a long time! I've missed you folks very much. I haven't been able to make it here to the library for reasons of no gas, no money, and no work. My little netbook is completely dead now.
I'm still off-grid and still living off the organic food forest that ive created. The solar panels and batteries have been very reliable, even on cloudy days, and maintainence free. I have been busy planting my greens for winter, working compost into the soil, and transplanting asparagus starts that i grew from my own hybrid seed. I have also been busy collecting seed for next spring, and dead trees and limbs from around the neighborhood, that i cut up into firewood. I also had to replace part of my stove pipe on the wood burning stove. It's been ten years now that ive been heating my ancient cottage with wood, and the poor old thing was rusted out. There was no sign of any creasote build-up. That's because i only burn well seasoned wood and run a couple of really hot fires at the start of winter. My pantry is stocked full, and im working on digging out that root cellar/storm shelter under my house. I also have regular work two days a week, for a lady who has more house than she can take care of. So over all, everything is going fairly well.
On the health front, my leg/hip/siadic nerve problem is better for now. It comes and goes. Mentally, i have been quite cheeful and still look forward to eating, drinking, and being merry every evening. I have been more active and sleeping better since i lost all that weight. (I went from a 38 inch waist to a 32.) Time for a new wardrobe!
Well thats about all i got to report for now. Sorry ive been gone so long. I'll try to pop in more often, now that i have a regular income. Chat with yall later!
