:ep He proceeds to tell me the homework he did on the Mo. state name and nick name was supposed to be two paragraphs not one. He asked if I could re print after fixing it and bring it to the school for him. :somad

:rant

I know we live across the street from school but come on. So of course I fixed it and took it down the hill. We have a big disconnect with what the teacher is assigning and what he tells me when he get home. He has an assignment book but most instructions he writes Phonetically. It like decoding a secret message. :he
So he called you to fix his homework?? Sounds like that is his problem and he needs to check his assignments first.

Does the teacher have time for him to bring her his list of homework at the end of the day and make sure he has it right?

Hi Framing Fowl :frow. Thanks for stopping by.

Actually its been a great weekend. I hate to admit but the weather this week has been amazing. Warm and breezy in the high 70,s. It's not going to last though. Next week we are getting back to rain. :tongue

Yesterday I spent some time pulling weeds around my raised beds. They come up very easy because they are actually growing on top of the weed fabric in the bark. There are just a ton of them.

I have been trying to catch up my house and help my ds work on his 5th grade state report. They sure do torture these kids.

Nothing much else on the SS front.

I just keep on trucking.

Hi Tanks! Thanks for posting the pix of your plant starts. I have 4-6 weeks before even thinking about it here.

Pulling weeds in 70F weather sounds so great this morning (still have a foot of snow on the ground here).

Keep the updates coming. :)

Don't get me started on these "busy work" reports from school.

Obviously class time is too long, or they wouldn't require so much busy work.

They need to toss in a few extra recesses and art classes :D

In our schools, "diorama" is the project of choice. As a parent, you need a well-stocked art studio for some classes. Yet, the written/typed instructions from some teachers will have spelling mistakes in it. :he

I know, I know, that's why folks home school, nobody jump on me, please. :hide

You know the problem with the report is she sent it home for us to do over the weekend. Dh had plans and my 10 year old is and should be right there with him. They changed the oil filter on 2 quads. Cut down a fallen tree and had to clean up the trimmed branches in my orchard. Very important father son time.

I had to call him in for 15 min every hour or so to draw a flag, summarize a paragraph. It doesn't sound like much but to my son not helping his dad is torture.

So I thought I should post another picture of the veggies. The tomato and squash are growing like weeds. Now my bell peppers are sprouting. I have 8 Ca Wonders, 4 pimentos, 4 chocolate bells, and 8 of some other Baker Creek Yellow. I hope they all make it. Bell Peppers are so sensitive.

Hey Abifae, my son has issues. He is on some ADHD meds and we are in transition to somethng diferent. So last week he had zero focus. I took him to his regular peditrician who also does ADHD. They gave us a new pill tha does not work. DS wont take it. So the teacher calls me on Fri and basically wanted to know when I was getting him new meds because he was awful. I feel like sending him on nothing next week and see how she likes it. :tongue

Yes, I took them out for a couple hours then brought them back into my laundry/mud room. The back door is glass so I either keep the door open for air or shut it and they still get sun.

It seems to be working well.

Ooooh! That's right :D I knew that too, sorry LOL. It's early. :caf

Would she be willing to fill out a homework sheet for him? To take home each night?

If he won't take the meds, they definitely won't help LOL. Does he get late winter issues too? Would dosing him with extra d help?? *tries to remember to take hers*

Jamie, home schooling would be great, but not everyone has the time or skills to do it!!!
