I can't remember schedules anymore. I just forget and before it bothered me, now I think it is a blessing in disguise. Makes me not fret as much about "what is coming up in the next few days" HA HA

oh that job. I know it just irks ya. well it sounds like you just have to let it roll. "forget" about it  If it don't exist it don't bother you :gig

VERY COOL Gina

I enjoyed that video! I rolled on right along with it LOL

ya know when I watch some tv shows like NCIS, Royal Pains which I am addicted to now..............my thought is "I never see anyone dust their home, take out their garbage, pay their bills, wash dishes, change their sheets and pillowcases, get their kid ready for school, help a kid with homework, go shopping at the grocery store" YOU KNOW, like normal life LOL and SO MUCH more.

so keep it real what we see is illusion out there life should just happen without too much control THAT makes us lose our minds on a daily basis HA HA HA

Noises from the garage today.....

I drew a picture of a counter top brooder for my meaties. Dh is working away. I hope it works out. I really need this thing to stay on my counter. My laundry/mud room is the entrance and exit to my yard, garden, patio. I don't have room for the kids pool or huge box on the floor. So I am hoping a 2 x 4 ft box on the counter will work for the first week or so. I figure I can hang the light towards one end and if they are to hot they can mosey to the other.

Other things were doing today....

Rained like heck last night around 3am. Woke me from a sound sleep.. DD found dripping water in her walk in closet this morning. Turned out, after entering the attic and cutting through a wall, that a vent pipe on the roof is leaking.

I transplanted some tomatoes into bigger peat pots this morning. I didn't have enough dirt to do all 54. So I picked the two biggest form each kind. I figure this way if they croak I still have more.

Girls are squirmy and giggly thinking about the dance tonight. I painted toes and fingers ad they are SUPPOSED to be showering and combing their hair.

Supposed is the key word there. I give up.

Son is still ill. Hes been on the sofa all day. He woke with a major headache this morning. If hes not feeling better this afternoon I am headed to the doc in the morning. My pediatrician has same day sick appointments all week. Thank goodness.

Well I think I am going to go check on my dh. See how hes managing. '

Yay for the new brooder!
I went to Mr Old Neighbor's house today and he showed me how he does a heat lamp-- he puts the light bulb in a canning jar and runs the cord through a hole in the lid! So he has it right in the box with the little chicks. Cool stuff that man knows.

:( Sorry to hear the kiddo is sick. I know that headache ... that is how mine started, a headache for about two days. I would go ahead and take him in to the doctor. Hope he feels better soon.

Great news on the brooder box by the way.

Al that's a great idea with the jar. FF I am probably going to take him in the morning. :fl I am hoping he feels better tonight.

I watched a you tube video yesterday with a lady that turned a foam cooler into an incubator. It was really cool. A bit of hardware cloth. An office light with a dimmer switch, some rocks and a sponge for humidity. She had some actually hatch with it.

Dh had two clip on lights. But they were the cheapies with plastic sockets. I did ask him to share with me but he grumbled. So I ordered a nice light from McMurray when I ordered my birds. It actually came today. Dh made a few comments about the cost of the electricity. He asked how long it had to stay on. :hide I said something like "not long" while I walked away. :hu

I did steal a clip from one of his lights though.

So this is what we made today. All scrap. About 2 hours from start to finish.

I had to split the lid because on my counter the top cupboards will hinder the lid opening. Well at least one side will open all the way now.

And if the chickens don't like it I'm gonna paint it and use it as a pie safe.

What do you all think???

Looks good! I would probably add a bit of wood on the bottom of the wire front to help keep the bedding in. It will be less of a mess.
