Please remember it was my birthday. We had also broke down on the way to the desert. My dh fixed the Freightliner with duct tape and Mule tape. So we were "discussing" the many uses for duct tape while having a cocktail.

I knew someone who used electrical tape to make a push up bra for a strapless dress. But it was under the dress....

Yes, my friend found out the hard way that she reacted badly to the adhesive in the electrical tape. I gather it wasn't pretty.

Soooooo for those of you who are not on FB...


My turkey gave me a black eye today. Just like that.

At least I am sure it will be by tomorrow. Right now it's just swollen.

He was up on a roost that is about shoulder height to me. I was petting his chest and I figured I would lift him up and set him on the floor.

WRONG!!!!!!

He got startled and flopped his wings. I turned my head but ended up with a wing across my face. I have this red mark, from his wing bone I imagine. Across my eye brow and down the top of my cheek..

Nice ehhh???? My eye watered for a few minutes. Thank goodness he didn't poke my eye out.

Well lesson learned.

At least when I had a rooster hit me in the face w/his wing, it wasn't as bad! If it does turn black, imagine explaining how it happened to your average Joe.

Turkeys are amazingly strong. You don't even think about such things, at least I didn't until I had to try and control a large scared bird one time. VERY difficult.

I am glad you eye wasn't damaged worse. If you have a shiner tomorrow we want to see pics.
