Hi Morel, they are really cute. Very small. Not too stinky, Yet!!! Deb , your funny!!!

FF, yes I did just that with my light. I was not sure of the height off the box. So I played with it a bit yesterday and finally threw a thermometer in there. It was hovering just about 95 which I thin OFG said was a good temp. So I angled it a bit off to the side. 10 min later all of the chicks were off to the side under the light.

I was worried about them getting to hot. My solution was to leave the end hall door open just a crack. If I close up the laundry room it gets really hot really fast.

The little ones all seem to be doing well. Eating and drinking. I went down yesterday and I had another turkey egg broke. Membrane was intact. I had to look. :sick :sick There was a chick but it had not survived. Sot now there is only one large turkey egg under her. She is still on the nest. But I think the chances it will hatch are slim to none.

Dace, good to hear you are getting some veggies in. I encourage everyone I know to plant. You just don't realize how even the smallest garden can provide. Not to mention the therapy you get from playing in the dirt. :D

Well I am playing catch up on chores after my mini vacation. Dh is in bed right now. He woke up in the middle of the night with a sore throat and headache. Looks like I will need to tend him today as well.

I finally got my taxes done. Whoo hoo. The tax man called last night with the numbers. I really did not want dh to know how much we were getting back. I wanted to sit on it a while. :p Oh well. I will put it straight into savings still. I have some projects to do on the house. Same old same old.

Well kids are mulling around. Asking about breakfast. having them home for 2 weeks really puts a cramp in my schedule. :gig

Off to feed.

Kinda. That was really funny. My dh knows better. I don't let him get sick usually. :D

He picked us this bug from work last week. I feel bad for him.

He tossed and turned all night, kinda coughing. Kept me up. :barnie

Now he will sleep all day and I will drink a pot of coffee.

Yay, Thursday!!!! :ya

You should they are the cutest darn things ever!!!

I am a bit worried about the little one. It does not seem to be thriving like the others. I can't blame it. I almost threw it away is was so close to dead.

I hope it makes it!!! :fl

Thanks, Karen. Ater what I heard on the news about the gov and I hope I get it.

I gotta tell you though. I have decided on the first thing I am buying.

New tires for my John Deere lawn tractor. Yes I know it's the simple things in life that make me happy. :D They are worn bald. Not a good thing in wet grass on a hill.

April 1st update.

Kids are home from sil ranch. I was bored stiff with no one here. They are all exhausted from playing in the river and riding horses.

Turkeys are all ding great. Food is going quick so I am hoping they get bigger before the creepy meats get here. If not I have a box to move the turks to. It's so darn warm here I'm not to worried about them.

Worked in the garden a bit today. Put in some bell peppers the other day. My tiny tomatoes are coming around.

I have ground cherries from last year coming back. Yum!!

I ordered some cuc's from Baker Creek this morning. My seeds are not coming up. I checked the date and they are old as dirt. Ok 2005. :hide

Well I guess I should figure out what to make for dinner.

No turning back now!!! :hide

The new kids are here. i got a call from the Rancho Penasquitos Post Office about 1 1/2 hours ago. They said they had my chicks but there was not truck coming to Vista until Monday?? What??? He said they are open 24/7 and I should probably come an get them. Being that I still have not gotten new glasses I talked dh into driving me down.

I know I was near Dace. Kinda.

Anyways. All 25 are healthy and peeping away. They threw in the 1 black extra chick. Not sure what the heck it is. Other than dwarfed by the Cornish X and Turkeys. I hope they all cohabitate well.
