Hi Morel, they are really cute. Very small. Not too stinky, Yet!!! Deb , your funny!!!
FF, yes I did just that with my light. I was not sure of the height off the box. So I played with it a bit yesterday and finally threw a thermometer in there. It was hovering just about 95 which I thin OFG said was a good temp. So I angled it a bit off to the side. 10 min later all of the chicks were off to the side under the light.
I was worried about them getting to hot. My solution was to leave the end hall door open just a crack. If I close up the laundry room it gets really hot really fast.
The little ones all seem to be doing well. Eating and drinking. I went down yesterday and I had another turkey egg broke. Membrane was intact. I had to look. There was a chick but it had not survived. Sot now there is only one large turkey egg under her. She is still on the nest. But I think the chances it will hatch are slim to none.
Dace, good to hear you are getting some veggies in. I encourage everyone I know to plant. You just don't realize how even the smallest garden can provide. Not to mention the therapy you get from playing in the dirt.
Well I am playing catch up on chores after my mini vacation. Dh is in bed right now. He woke up in the middle of the night with a sore throat and headache. Looks like I will need to tend him today as well.
I finally got my taxes done. Whoo hoo. The tax man called last night with the numbers. I really did not want dh to know how much we were getting back. I wanted to sit on it a while. Oh well. I will put it straight into savings still. I have some projects to do on the house. Same old same old.
Well kids are mulling around. Asking about breakfast. having them home for 2 weeks really puts a cramp in my schedule.
Off to feed.
