Saturday.

I wonke up with a bit of spunk in my step. No thanks to the three children I gave birth to who refuse to help me with anything. Or the husband who I argued with yesterday and have not spoken to in over 24 hours.

Enough said. :rant :somad

So I pulled back the mulch on the other side of my driveway today.

4 more rows planted.

Just came in for some lunch. I need to run an errand. I wonder if they will even notice if I leave?

Probably when they get hungry.

Can I go on strike, too? :somad Apparently, having the audacity to ask 3 teen/almost teen kids to pitch in and help clean up the house before mom got home from work was "selfish" on my part, considering I've been running their happy little butts all over the place while mom is working. :tongue to them!!!

EVERY and I mean every Saturday morning we do house chores, room, family room, I catch up on laundry etc..

Because of dh and I having a disagreement last night the kids are following his lead. They are all hiding and working in the garage with dad. Doing who knows what. Certainly not their rooms.

Of course I am the bad guy, enforcer and one who has to yell. Because he does not back me at all.

But still nothing is getting done. It gets old.

I can not and will not clean up after a family of 5 in a 3500 sq foot house when no one helps.

And they wonder why I want to live in a Tiny House.

:he

I'm gonna go sit in my chicken coop. :th

HA! I told the kids that after the school year is over, I'm going to have the wife put the house up for sale if attitudes don't change. I just finished my dinner, and they are whining about wanting something to eat.... I am sooo mean...

Basically, they're upset because the wife went back to work (real estate) and is busy on the weekends. I've patiently explained to the kids that a small consistent effort across the week would free up the weekend for non-work, fun stuff. Gee, I work a 40 hour week and still find time at night to do something small to help keep up.

I can't go sit in the chicken coop, because DS is "too tired" to help get it cleaned out.

The meaties are about 4 weeks now and I'm tired of looking them and getting no help. :somad

Do they make Calgon for men?

Calgon is for everyone :)

And big :hugs TanksHill

I'm fortunate that my 2 teens are out of town with their church Youth Group for a Youth convention/concert weekend.

But they usually do ok when it comes to household chores. They do need reminding, but they load and run the dishwasher every morning before I take them to school, they do all their own laundry (clothing, bed linens and towels), they scoop the cat litter, and they vacuum the basement and their rooms once a week. They also do most of the lawn mowing in the summer months.

Hubbie does the rest of the dishes, often does our laundry, cleans the bathrooms and floors, and takes out the garbage and recycling. He also does most of the garden weeding, clips the hedges, and runs the whipper snipper to edge the lawn.

My main domain is the kitchen, cooking and cleaning in there, groceries and other errands, plus sharing in hubby's and my laundry. I do all the dusting, clean the windows etc.

Hubs does cook here and there, and is actually quite a good cook as he lived on his own for 8 years before we got married.

There are days when each of us fall down, and I do my fair share of yelling at my kids and hubs as well, but I can't really complain (says she who is having a great day).

But again :hugs to you and I hope your family pulls it together for the rest of the day.

Thanks, to you both.

The day has not really gotten any better. Instead of my coop I went to the Goodwill store. Which was not really any better. It's really crowded on Sat.

I bought ds a lamp and found a new salad spinner.

I just got home and the kids were making themselves lunch. Is almost 4pm. :barnie

My husband, who for some reason let his sister use his truck and got stuck driving home her cube thing is in the driveway cleaning it. Detailing the inside etc.. :duc

He fixed my brakes a month ago and they squeak all the time. Even when I am not using them.

If he does not have time to check them this weekend I will go to Midas on Tues.

I'm sorry for venting. Normally I don't like to air my dirty laundry. Unless it's on the line. :p

Oh and tonight we were supposed to go to a family get together/potluck. With friends etc... We will not go if their rooms are not picked up. Period.

Whatever.

And I thought my day wasn't going well!

Dh was working outside trying to get more of the old trailer cleaned up more.

Kids helped me with chores this morning and we got them all done.

Noon - had our scare for the day and all of the kids are being overly helpful to their big sister now

Only blip in the day was a sarcastic comment from my mom aimed at my husband which ticked him off.

Ugh, what a day. Shopping on a Saturday always seems to = no fun and way too crowded. Sometimes I forget too. More :hugs

Stick to this, they have to understand that everyone pitches in when it's family chore time.

Why is your hubs detailing his sister's car? Does he hate a messy car or did she ask him to do it? I did mine myself on Wednesday, but that was just to get all the winter gravel vacuumed out now that we're finally into good weather (mostly just vacuuming, emptying the garbage, and damp cloth dusting the dashboard etc.)

Definitely get your brakes checked--safety first for sure!

And more :hugs
