Man I have had exactly that kind of day before. :hugs

It will get better. I think spending the time in the chicken house might even help. ;)

Sorry it hasn't improved yet today, Tanks.

The wife came home and laid down the law, backing me up.

We'll see how tomorrow goes!

Have a good one!

Well we made it through dinner. Both at our opposite ends of the table. Managing not to actually talk to each other but just the kids.

Aly, I read your FB post. I hope dd is doing better. :hugs

FF, I have little to complain about. Things will work themselves out. I know there could be things so much worse. But thank you.

Moolie, my husband works with his dad. Some how on Friday his sis was at the office and needed his truck. So he traded her. He carpools with dad so he took him home and brought her car here. She is a slob. Always on the go, very busy, runs and owns 3 old folks board and care facilities. And she is also the one with the ranch that gives my kids horse riding lessons. She is very giving and helpful always. I am kind glad dh cleaned her car. But I know he was just doing it so he could stay in the garage. He started by cleaning the inside of our trailer. :gig I wonder how it looks?

So you never told me your favorite color. Should I just make it a neutral color?

That usually works best. :)

I just got off the phone with my cousin in Mo. She was closing up the animals for the night. She says it's so icky, everything is just so wet and will not dry out. :sick That and she found a couple piles of feathers. uh oh!!

Well I guess I should clan up the house a bit.

Have a good night.

With the day you've had you're asking my favourite colour? You are just lovely :)

Hope tomorrow is a better day for you all (and I'm happy with just about any colour although I do love blue).

:weee :ya :clap :woot :ya

I have more turkeys hatching. Found one cracking and the other was outside the run in the bushes. Not sure how it happened. But we found a second shell and heard a peep. It was in some weeds just outside the run. I returned it to the nest box. We also removed a bunch of litter so the level was lower than the lip of the box.

Momma Hen came off the box for a bit of food and water. Now shes back on the job.

Tom went to sil ranch so I don't think we will have a repeat of the last massacre.

I am hoping for some more. :fl

Ok so I have just returned from my coop. Turkey troubles big time. The second chick had shell stuck to his back.. I took down some warm water and tried helping it off. I got most of it. But there is still a bit right in the middle. :hu

The second bird, the one I found it the weeds. Its missing a wing. :hit

I imagine however it got outside is the reason. Not sure if its the tip bone or just the feathers hard to tell. It seems ok. It just has a hard time getting up if it falls over.

:th

This is exhausting. I wonder if I should be pulling the chicks and putting them into the brooder. Maybe the coop is just not safe?

Any suggestions?

Tanks, so sorry about your turkey woes.. I have to say...turkeys will look for a way to die, until they are at least 3 months old. I have raised them for maybe 4 years now...and lose several if I leave them with the hens. Besides, once they are big enough to sell, or whatever" you will have a hard time getting them from momma turkey, they can be mean as a snake!
I like brooding mine, especially if I am selling them for "pets" It makes it easier to keep them people friendly.

Thanks that's good to know.

I think I am going to pull them and bring them into the house. Especially the one missing a wing. :(

I am going to check again in a bit.

Ok I have another question. My last batch are just about 8 weeks. I have seen them several times in the past couple days picking fights with the chickens.

I figured it's a size thing. They are right about the same as the chickens.

I am starting to think I should separate the two families.

:/
