Thanks Jay, But I don't need any Bunny love :bun around here. I was going to stop by your journal and say howdy. Hows the garden going? I have potatoes everywhere this year. I bought some seed potatoes on my trip to Bakersville. I felt obligated to plant all of them since they traveled so far to come to my garden. :p

What have you been up to? I hope feeling better? Garden therapy is good for you. :) Have you seen the bears near your pond this year?

Take care and stop by any time.

Ok so don't think I am crazy but I had a bit of down time this evening with no kids. So I took the opportunity to work on a craft I have planned for my Christmas gifts. A few months back my local WM was closing down their fabric section. They had a ton of fleece on clearance. So I bought a bunch at a 1/4 of the normal price. The patterns really fit my dh nephews and nieces. Horses, camping, tie dye, Pixar Cars Movie, some girly stuff and baby. As well as bunch of plain. So my gifts this year will be knotted fleece blankets. Well I had never done them before so tonight's took a bit longer than normal. But I finished it and it turned out pretty good. A bit smaller than I'd hoped. But it will do. I originally bought 1 1/2 yards of fabric and I think it was 54 inches wide.

I learned a couple things. Scissors are good but a rotary tool is better. Especially since I did the math and I think the last time I had my Gingers sharpened was 1990. :hide

I used a regular square knot. Right over left, left over right. I know you can use others but like I said I am just figuring this out.

Any tricks or advice welcome!!!

I love you all so much ! It constantly amazes me how we are all doing the same things and my friends think I am a freak.

I made three of those blankets today. I find that the single 'fringe' knot works well and after several washings hangs on better. They also lay flat, totally ascetics on my part, but I don't typically make them for children so the wild fringe is less popular.

I made a pillow for DS like that once. It was tan on the front and dark brown on the back. When I tied the two together it made a lion's mane. I sewed a face on the tan side. From what I remember I used square knots too.

Thanks, It's funny how we all have the same stuff going on. Could you explain to me what a "single fringe knot" is?

FF, I have a pile of fabric and two new patters as well. I have been staring at my machine all week. It's just calling to me!!! One is actually for me. My 7yo told me yesterday she needs new sundresses for summer.

Good morning Dace. Thanks.

H23, That's a cute idea. I bet you could do all kinds of pillows. Flowers for the girls etc... :barnie Please don't give me any more ideas.

I found a bargain at the Good Will today.

I got myself a new pair of boots today. That is if I don't end up selling them on Craigslist. They are a almost brand spanking new, fresh out of the box pair of Muck Boots, Chore. Men's size 10 women's 11. I looked them up on line and different styles run from 79 to 120 bucks.

I got these for 12.99 :weee :weee

I also got my son a nice Timberland lined jacket.

That store will try to charge you .99 cents for one mason jar but I can get a 100 dollar pair of boots for just over 10 bucks. Geesh they are Back !@#@ wards.

Lucky me!!!
