It would be good to be able to buy authentic ancient wheat seeds and grow our own : )

i won't vouch for any that i found but searching found seeds sources in Australia. it looks like you may be able to get about anything you'd want.

i did grow some winter wheat and winter rye one year (planted in the fall and let go until seeds and harvested them the next early summer) and it was ok, but i've not done it again due to Mom not liking the experience. i liked it because the roots of the plants really helped break up the clay and when all turned it was good for the following garden plants. they also helped keep weeds down as the stands are so thick that not much else had a chance to grow in there.

not having a thresher or winnower made the harvest almost useless to me for food value as i was way too busy with other things to bother. we also don't have a mill for grinding flour (beans are so much easier! :) :) :) )
