On the news a minute ago, they said some are hurt, some trapped in homes. The town is alive with sirens on the way to help. A mobile home park was demolished, a UPS distribution center is gone, a new church destroyed. All traffic is stopped to LG. There is an upper end housing edition on Brock rd that is hit pretty hard. Will kepp ya'll updated as I can.
According to the news, strait line winds of 60 mph(58 here in Ardmore a while ago. The storms have moved from our area, but close communities still in the path(Madill, Durant, Gainesville, Sherman/Denison area). Ardmore is out of the watch though thank the Lord.
OM, saw some footage of Edmond, looks like ya'll had a little wind .
Well, as of right now, 1 dead, another death unconfirmed, 15+ injured. Injured being brought in by neighbors in pickups and ATV's. So sad...but glad that neighbors are there for each other. Ardmore and Lone Grove are so close, and everyone knows everyone else around here. My heart goes out to all those caught in this.
Hey all. The tornado did a lot of damage, and there was lots of folks injured, 8 killed. I thank God all my coworkers made it through. Most of the people I work with live in Lone Grove. We are gathering clothes and dry goods to donate tomorrow. The roads are somewhat cleared and my wife went through there a while ago. Its tore up pretty badly. It just barely missed sis-in-laws house(she had a storm shelter). Speaking of shelters, one guy at work holed up with38 people in a 6x6 shelter! I do have some pics I'll post later to show how bad it was.
'preciate the prayers and well wishes, we were good. Pray for the others
It has been a rough couple of days in this area. With small towns, everyone knows everyone else, and the destruction affects everyone. At work, we have been helping our coworkers with cleanup and donations of cash, food, and clothes. I must admit, I was kinda surprised to see us on the CBS evening news. Katie Couric had us all cracking up, saying "Lone Grove" very distinct and preciely(around here it is kinda slurred into one word, Longrove). So, cleanup continues, and lives are trying to knit back together. Thanks to all with prayers.
Geez, looks pretty bad there. Us North Dakotans are no strangers to tornado destruction but in February It's bad enough that it had to happen but it's really cold there for you guys too I expect.
Take it one day at a time buddy. I'm sure all your friends and neighbors appreciate everything you can do to help them.
