Beautiful views!

I don't like driving in the mountains either. I am a hard core flatlander. :D

Thanks the views up there are truly spectacular. On the way up to the falls we passed windmills and they were huge and really neat, we pulled over on the side of the road (that was a little scarry) but the view off the side went on forever. Vacation was wonderful none of us wanted to come home - especially since it is still HOT here :) We always try to rent a house because as many of us as there is, it is usually cheaper for us to be able to cook plus we have plenty of room :)

Just a little drama I need to share this morning . . . . Oldest DS turned 16 this year - we found him a 95 Grand Prix that "needs a little work" that he could afford ($450) - we replaced the radiator, worked on the a/c (freon and a plug that wasn't plugged in), still need to replace the window motors but we knew all that when we bought it so all in all not a bad little car . . . . well this morning he made it to school and the car stopped moving - transmission issues :barnie his buddies helped him push it out of the way and park it so this afternoon DH & I will go get it - I'll probably have to pull it home.

I am very thankful that they made it to the school safely and they weren't left beside the road or somewhere he didn't have a cell signal. Thanks for listening

Glad he is safe. Is there an auto class at the school? since it is already there, maybe the auto teacher can use it for class.

Thanks. No auto class :/ that would be too easy :D We have a friend that is a mechanic (DH dabbles in computers and repairs their computers and he usually helps us with the vehicles) and my brother is a pretty good mechanic so at least we'll have experts to help us once we get it home :)

Well DH got there to check out DSs car and cranked it up and the transmission engaged - he drove it home! Not sure what happened DS said it would go in reverse, but it wouldn't go forward in drive or low gears :hu We decided to let DH drive it for a few days until we can make sure there isn't anything seriously wrong.

This morning the post office called to tell me that the chicks I had ordered (cornish crosses) had come in so I got around and drove into town. All 32 of them were dead :hit I've had some losses before, but never the entire order and of course it is the weekend and the hatchery offices are closed. I replied to my order confirmation email and attached pics showing that the box was not damaged and one of the inside of the box after I opened it. What a way to start my weekend :barnie

On a better note - a couple of days ago somebody threw some fence out at the dump at the end of our road . . . .so on the way home I stopped. Most of it was the 2x3 wire and was in good shape other than being bent so I got all of it and threw it over in the back of DH's truck - good thing it needed gas and I let DS drive my truck this morning - and brought home a truck load of fence :woot A guy pulled up and hollered "what cha gonna do with that?" I hollered back "straighten it out and put it up" - good luck was his reply - please it won't be that hard and it saved me a boat load of money on fence !!
