Look at those ears! No wonder you're getting more than you originally thought. Is that blackish one by the mom spotted? Wow! Really pretty. Oh what fun!

Thanks - they are really adorable.

Tammylyn - we are in Florida 42 miles east of Tallahassee.

Farmer Denise - she had all of them except the spotted one on bottles. The reason I'm waiting to get them is she is going to get them all on bottles for me so it won't be so hard when I get them home.

Framing Fowl - yep she is spotted, she is the 1st one I picked out cause she is absolutely beautiful :love

I think I'm in trouble cause they aren't even here yet and I'm in love with the little cutie pies.

oh man those pics are making me want goats so bad!!!!!!! (I had to get rid of mine last spring) :hit Those babies are adorable!!! :love

As for hay I've never used that kind before (but I'm up north where no one grows peanuts so don't even have that as an option) Other than that I found goats to eat just about any kind we bought for them... One goat even preferred to eat the straw we laid down as bedding as to the hay we fed her... ROFL So as long as you keep an eye on them and they look thick and health I don't see why you couldn't use that as hay... but I'm by far no expert :D

I'm not sure about using the peanut vine hay. I wonder if it would have proper nutrients in it. Usually people buy some type of grass hay or alfalfa hay or a mix of grass/alfalfa. Especially with growing kids, you will want good quality hay.

:hugs I'm sorry you had to get rid of yours. Thanks.

I tried to do an internet search and of course came up with some folks that love it and say it's okay and others who say not to use it :barnie that's why I came to the experts on SS. I knew someone would be able to give me their expertise :D

You could always try it and have something else as a backup. Are you wanting to use the peanut hay because it's less expensive? Maybe you could try mixing it with other feed to see how they do?

Congratulations on the goats!!! They are just adorable. I can't wait to see more pictures.

The kids looked like they were having a great time. Good clean fun. Well at least until you fall in the dirt. :D
