I personally am a vaccinator. I believe in basic puppy shots for all animals, including people. I think people have largely forgotten the death and devastation that "simple" childhood diseases have caused in the not too distant past and that is largely part of the reason people see no reason to vaccinate. I DO NOT agree with the annual "flu" shots or extra largely untested vaccines.

It is YOUR choice however. Your children are the ones at risk. Your friends vaccinated children should be fine, so why the big deal? I don't get that at all.

I DO want to add a bit of extra info however. Did you know that your unvaccinated children may be at risk of contracting Whooping Cough or Pertussis from DOGS that carry distemper or kennel cough? Bordetella pertussis which is the agent that causes Whooping Cough is very similar to Bordetella bronchiseptica which causes the dog disease. It is not considered generally contagious but it CAN cross species.

I am also curious about how your children will be handled once they enter the public school system (if ever). Working for a school district I see kids all the time without the "proper" vaccines. The parents are notified and they ARE NOT ALLOWED to attend our school until they have either the blood tests to prove immunity or the proof of vaccine. Have you checked out the policies in your area regarding this stuff?

I can also see a valid point to waiting until the kid is older to get vaccines. Giving shots to tiny babies is scary.

We pretty much wiped out 2 nasty diseases(in the USA) and greatly reduced the incidence of several others.
Just curious, which 2 are those? and which were "greatly reduced"?Ever heard of Haemophilus influenzae serotype b infection? usually called HIB disease. Nasty infection that came on so fast with a high fever that it would fry baby brains before they got in for treatment used to average 10,000 deaths/year with another 50,000 suffering Retardation or deafness caused by the high fever. It was a bacteria that could be controlled by antibiotics if treated early. You mothers know the drill, baby is fussy and falls off to sleep. wakes screaming with a fever and you try to get in to see a doctor or go to the ER. If they run tests before the antibiotic, baby is doomed it was just that fast moving in infants. Now there are usually about 10 cases a year, most of them fatal as docs won't shoot antibiotics without knowing what they are shooting at and most docs have never seen a case.
poliomyelitis- We have all heard about the Salk (Injected) vaccine but it was the Sabin (oral) vaccine that really cleared it out of the USA and now most of the world.
Greatly reduced would be diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus.
measles, mumps, rubella, influenza and pneumococcal pneumonia, the last one I worked on before I retired.~gd

I'd dump the friend if it wasn't too much of an issue for me, if she's a better friend than that I would consider just lying about it. (how's she gonna know?)
If you think she might find out, perhaps just ask outright which ones she's concerned with, then you can go deeper into the issue regarding the severity of the disease in question, and ask her if she'll please sign a form taking all responsibilies (financial included) should your children suffer any of the side effects, and list them! (might just pop her eyes RIGHT open!)

I would never go get my kids vaccinated because I couldn't go on a play date, I'd just find better friends.

Consider this.. I had antibodies to measles and never had the disease nor the vaccine when I was checked.

The two diseases erradicated by vaccine is small pox and essentially polio. The only cases of polio in the us in the last 20 or 30 years has been caused by the vacccine. But the polio vaccine has caused increased cases of childhood leukemia and other cancers due to the sv40 monkey virsu that was in it. This virus is now sexually transmited throughout the population, and likely delivered to children in utero.... oh the evils that are done in the name of science and profits....

I do not recommend that one ever get the Hep B vaccine. None. never nada. I have written on this so much it is getting hard to repeat it .... it contributes to diabetes according to indepentend vaccine researcher Clausen Labs and too many people get significant bad reactions.. If you kid is not going to be a drug user the risk is about non existant.

The good news is that MMS can cure hep b and c.

and what they also don't tell you is that hep B often resolves by itself.

Here is a testimonial on hep c that came to my blog recently. I also know of several other people who are using mms who have hep c and doing very well with significant reductions in negative scores on virus and liver enzymes. It is the treatment for any form of hepatitis caused by virus. MMS will take care of hep B also.
see www.jimhumble.biz for details on mms

Comment:
I am online exploring the available info on MMS because a friend (not hearsay but someone I know)completely cured herself of terminal Hep C that had developed into cirrohsis of the liver with a 3 month course of MMS. She was dying, waiting for a liver transplant and now shows no trace of Hep C. Pretty impressive.

You can see all comments on this post here:
http://www.healthsalon.org/264/mms-...lized-oxygen-chlorine-dioxide-detox/#comments

I cannot possibly reiterate all I know on these topics but much is stored on my blog. Do a blog serach there with key words like MMS, SV monkey virus, vaccinations

Kennel cough is going around heavily in my city, a dog could walk into my store and my dog could get it. Or myself, since its a zoonosis apparently?

My bunnies both just died from undetected brain parasites, that ate, literally, half their brain. I could get that, might have, were waiting on state results and necropsies.

I'd take kennel cough any day of the week.

Lori, don't let it be her or anyones business, its yours and yours alone :)

Almost all outbreaks of diseases that there are vaccinations for are amongst vaccinated populations.... go figure... do the research.

It is better to get childhood illnesses during childhood and be done with it. Those who get vaccinated then get the diseas as teenagers or adults will pay a heavy price.

What Mackay said!

I get tired sometimes of repeating things over and over.

I'm surprised so many folk (on this forum) believe what they're told about vaccinations, without looking into it themselves, and yet when it comes to their veggie garden (monsanto) or where they buy their chicken (tyson?) they know so much more than the average joe.
I'd rather eat at McDonalds for a week than give my children a vaccination. At least there is a good chance I'd "elliminate" most of the bad stuff, vaccinations can't be "un-done!"

I have to admit WS that I am a little surprised too. I have always been against vaxs (except for the HPV one for a brief time) and fight tooth and nail against it done to me. Thankfully my mom was "easy".

I think generally there is very little questioning of the medical establishment and medical procedures. Here there is more so, but the vaccination issue seems a particularly contentious issue.

I remember watching a PBS documentary on vaccination and I had a generally uncomfortable feeling like it was propaganda and they were bashing on those who choose not to vaccinate. They particularly bashed on folks from Vashon Island, WA, near where I live. I had friends living there at that time, who did not vaccinate their own children, and so I felt very turned off by how one-sided the program was, especially for a public television program.

I think everyone should have a right to refuse medical procedures, but I also think everyone should be responsible enough to educate themselves before they encounter a routine medical procedure.

I vaccinate and will do all shots that are required for my daughter, with some research on my part. I sure won't debate "to vac or not" cause it sure can get heated lol

but it is your friends choice it is her decision she has the right to say no play if ur kids are not vaccinated etc it is what she wants out of life u either comply or don't go to her home simple as that when it comes to that friend all friends come with some type of weird baggage and issues in their lives lol so u gotta just work around her issues

do ur own personal choices on ur kids do the research etc
never let anothers choice of theirs make u not research for yourself the pros and cons make up ur own mind on the vaccines and just live by what ur friend says about visits to her home
