So, if the world is going to end why am I fighting over recycling? I quit. I've had it. It's not worth it. If I don't recycle a can or a piece of junk mail it won't make any difference to the end of the world anyway, so what is the point.

I am going to just be a good American Consumer and buy and throw away since that's what our government wants us to do anyway. It isn't worth fighting over any more.

:he :barnie :rant :duc :tongue
I was feeling that way last week; just ready to throw in the towel. I actually told the credit card guy, "why don't you just have me arrested and put me in jail! Then I won't have to worry about a roof over my head or food or paying for utilities". I think I got him with that one and he started to work with me.

I feel for you with the visit from the DD. It is like that here with stepson who is just 19  I need a neck choking smiley

When I talk about the stepson I nearly always need one of those

Although he does have the potential for some serious goodness, I just can't wait for him to grow into it.

I've bit the bullet and stuffed my procrastinating self in the garage and ordered a beginner beehive kit! Yeah! 2 deep and one super, veil, gloves, smoker, instruction booklet- but I'll be coming here for instructions! There is a bee inspector around here who runs a weekend seminar each season for new beekeepers, too. He sells nuclei and queens. Off to put my order in for a nuc for spring!

We have been wanting to do this for a few years now- even if it only ends up pollinating our garden and helping put more bees into the environment. Of course, honey and wax would be a great bonus!

Have fun with your bees. I am mildly interested in beekeeping but dh is dead set against it so I decided not to push the issue with this one.

Need jingles, good thoughts, prayers, whatever you can for our bantam roo, Winston. He is neurologic and may have mereck's. The vet (yes, he's a pet and my SO is really torn up about it) said if he can keep eating and drinking he *may* pull through- it isn't unheard of. So we are keeping him in a crate inside where he is warm, feeding and watering him frequently and doing "chicken PT" on his legs. Poor boy- but the vet said he wasn't actually suffering- he just can't use his legs. So we will hang on until he recovers or doesn't.

Our big rooster went almost the same way, only we didn't bring him in as early to feed. We've had all these chickens for 4 years now, and the girls seem perfectly healthy and are laying again (at 6 years old!).

RIP, Winston Churchill. Your girls will miss you. All of them.
