That is sooooo nice! I want one too.... maybe I want two. Maybe I don't need two - I just candled about 60 eggs nd ended up boiling up about 20 of 'em for the pigs. One of my roo's is NOT doing his job - they were almost all one of my rare breeds.... :(

That stinks fem :/ If you lived closer we'd build you a tractor :) It didn't really cost all that much.

the 2x4's were aout $25
wire was $26
tin was $24
staples were $3
nails were $2
The gutter and end caps were $12

So, that's just shy of $100 for materials.

That's not bad at all. I've probably got all the wood I need. I never throw nuttin' away if it looks re-useable. DH just shakes his head and calls me a hoarder, lol. But he like it when it doesn't cost anything. I really like the gutter/feed trough. That is a great idea!

I can't take total credit for that. We got the idea from Farm Kings on CMT, but we changed it to gutter from PVC because gutter is so much less expensive.

ETA: You could cut cost significantly if you have a few things just lying around. You can even downsize the tractor to cut cost. That piece of gutter we got was 10 feet long, and the other half will be used for the next tractor. So I guess I should have figured half the cost of it into this tractor.

I'm gonna use a 5 gallon bucket for their waterer, I still have to buy the nipples to make it, and a lid, but that's the plan. I will put another panel on top on the oppostie end of the tin, and brace it up to just drop down in and catch on that first rim on the outside of the bucket. The nipples should be reached easily at that level. Oh, and the tractor is only 2 feet tall.
