So, instead of being a tree hugger, you're a tree tapper?

Just got up.. Pup kept me up last night *yawn* It's cold outside. I have to go out to the Amish farm this morning and pick up a picnic table and some eggs. Beyond that, I have no idea what the day will hold. DH is supposed to get off work early, we'll see if that happens. If he does we're supposed to go look at that truck I found the other day, and may get it as a back up vehicle. We gave the car to R. He has worked his tail off here at the farm, helping with anything and everything farm related, and he needed a vehicle. It's kind of appreciation for all his help. We got to get him tagged and insured in his name sometime this week. I'm wondering if they are going to give me problems with the tags and such, since the car was a gift. Sometimes they can be butts about that, especially when it isn't technically family. Sometimes the government should just butt out. :/ I guess it could be tax deductible though, if we have to do it that way. I didn't give him the car for a tax deduction though, we gave it to him to help him get on his feet better, and become more independent, and would have regardless of his help.

I really need a CPA to get and keep all this business stuff straight. I'm keeping any and all receipts/notes for fuel costs, tools, feed, losses, and everything and I guess I'll figure it out eventually. I've been keeping a business daily journal too. I need to get a tax ID and all that mumbo jumbo too. And I NEED to do some research one of these days :p May poke around the web today since it's FREEZING cold outside and I don't see us getting much done other than feeding animals. Okay, maybe I'm doing too much thinking out loud and not enough doing...but I babble about whatever is on my mind when I'm sleepy

I'm going to go see if I can scrounge up something halfway palatable to fill the void :p Later!

Up here, it's cheaper to tell them you got the car for $50-100 rather than as a gift ;)

I broke down and bought tracking software for my business. I got Quicken, because I was used to using it when I did the books for the local florist where I used to live. It's pretty easy to use/get the hang of, and a whole lot cheaper than keeping a CPA on retainer

I will show no mercy for your cold morning - we just 'removed' over a foot of snow from the driveway yesterday, and it's sunny but in the twenties today for a high :p I would welcome your 'cold' :plbb

We didn't get as much snow, but it was only in the 30s and windy! I had a horrible time tying my tarp down after I got hay for the horses today. :(
