I had dinner tonight with a couple I've known for 10+ years. They are pulling up stakes and moving to FL. Hadn't intended to do this for another 5 yrs or so. Be happy at what ever you decide.
Pig and 8 chickens went home today. I had to get feed.....Amish lady is going to teach me soapmaking first week of December She sent me home with a bar of honey oatmeal that smells almost good enough to eat! The guy that came for the pig did not get her. He wanted to talk me out of my price, tried to tell me she wouldn't weigh in at 200, but "might hit 150" my big rosy butt! So, I sold her to the guy who she has been with. No loading, cut him a deal, because he has been doing most of the chores and I was going to give him some cash anyway, so worked out better for me anyway. AND that jerk didn't get her. He kept complaining afterwards that I shouldn't have sold her to the other guy, should have this should have that....he knows he missed a good deal. I was only asking $150 anyway So I sold her and turned around and sold the guy that was with him 6 hens, a 2 month old pullet, and a rooster for $65. I hope he had a great long day to stew over it Serves him right.
Tomorrow.....I dunno what all I have to do. We need a couple things from town. DH's ex boss is being a jerk. He has ALWAYS gotten his check on Thursday, but suddenly, he didn't get them in...won't have it till tomorrow I just bet I wish he could find a job without a boss that's a lowlife. It's pretty sorry how he got laid off in the first place, but then for this guy to hold his check...he deserved a foot in the face.
Anyway.....had a pretty good day hanging out with hubby We got a lot done around the house too.
Ok, so I found out this weekend I can sell bread at the flea market now, thanks to our governor changing the laws May of last year allowing for folks to sell, jams, baked goods, and such without having to have a permit or certified inspected commercial kitchen, up to 5000 units of product per calendar year. It just has to be labelled as such and have an ingredients list provided with the product. I'm baking now. I'm going to start out small, with basic breads and maybe some cakes and/or cookies later on. Maybe I can do some good with it. I'm working on a pricing list right now, to see how much profit margin is possible. It's getting too cold for the flea market, but at least I can get a sample product out and see how well it is going to go over this year.
