Probably a sack of coal for my bad attitude  I still got it too :p It's comfy right now...

Nothing going on here today much. We got the chick situation straightened out this morning, honoring the old payment agreement till the bator is empty(my choice) then going to a different payment method, flat rate by the week.

Tomorrow a friend is giving me another freezer, she has too many, and is trying to cut her electric bill down, so I told her I'd be glad to alleviate her "problem" for her :D I could use another. Another friend is keeping us stocked in deer for the price of a few pounds of jerky per carcass so maybe I can keep it stocked over the winter with venison, and fish in the summer time. It'll be my wild game freezer, and produce for canning. I'm looking forward to getting it, and getting it cleaned up and shoved full of ex cute fluffies and garden yummies eventually!

Meh, that's pretty much it. Going to investigate the sale barn tomorrow while around Savannah and see what beefs are going for. I can't keep feeding these monsters, and well...I have plenty of other food, so priorities say sell one to make the house payment :hu So, hopefully by next week one of the boys will be gone. I haven't decided which one yet. Thinking maybe the taller one. I like the way the other is built, short and blocky...tasty lookin :drool I do want to at least attempt to keep one for homegrown beef this summer...can't keep the grilled burger off my mind...if only he knew what i was thinking when I take him breakfast... Anyway, I already got rid of my pig, so I can't have bacon burgers, just not willing to completely give up the burger idea until I HAVE TO. Hopefully though, DH will be back to work long before that becomes necessity.

We still have yet to hear a peep from anyone he has put in with. I'm thinking if we do it will likely be after the new year anyway...so here we still sitteth.....tweedling away all willy nilly like and stuff. I'm thinking tomorrow also, a good ole trip to help some underpriviledged kids pick out their Christmas presents to start my day. It's a community sponsored thing, I forget which organization, but the kids get a budget and assigned an adult to help them shop. So I volunteered meself. I could use a pick me up, and kids, tend to do it for me, well...and fishing, but..I;m not interested in freezing my bait off at the moment :p

Hope everyone has had a good day and will have another good one tommarah(Southern twang for day after today :p )

Nope, but I saw a bunch of cow butts and heard a whole lotta mooing! We went to the sale barn to see what there be to see out there :D HUGE bulls, that's what, with HUGE attitudes  2400 pounder got a little mean and almost went over the railing into the auctioneers booth :ep On a positive note, prices are pretty high right now, so it may be a decent time to sell. I need to call and see what final market averages were for today. We missed a lot of it. we only stayed for a while when they were running grown Angus and Charolais through. It was interesting though. Hubs couldn't understand a thing the auctioneer was saying lol, or the process for that matter. It is confusing the way they do it if you've never been though.

We got the freezer too. It's still in the truck at the moment. Have to move some things to get it to where we can back the truck in to the porch and slide it off, and we were late getting home, and starving, so we just came in and got to cookin and stuff, then we ate....and nobody wants to move still

I missed the kiddos this morning. I was up late last night...couldn't sleep.... AGAIN :/ That crap is getting old fast.

I hope everyone had a good day...I'm calling mine good for the most part. :)

Do they sell them by the pound? There used to be a livestock auction here that did that. First time I went, I couldn't figure out why all these cows were going for so cheap, until I realized it was by the pound. (Good thing I didn't try to buy any!)

Ha yeah, by the pound  No way I'd sell either of them for a dollar ;) Feeder steers are going for about $1 per pound right now. I figure mine weigh in the 300-350 range. That's one house payment and catching up on insurance, and tags are due. I may wind up selling them both...dunno yet. This is such a crappy time to be unemployed. NOBODY will hire you or give a hint of whether or not they may need someone until after the beginning of the year. Hubs has resumes out...but that means nothing right now. May be going back on the road. Dunno what we'll do with the kid in school issue. We may have to go back to homeschooling. That'd suck, because she'd be a pain in the butt about it, but.....it's still better than being dirt poor :p

I had a llong entry typed, but my computer is being glitchy...mouse clicked on it's own and sent it spiralling into cyber space...so I guess y'all can just guess what it said for now

I gots thangs to do!!!! Going to talk to a friend who owns a store to see about putting some things on the shelf ;)
