Many sympathies with DH! My SO was a step parent to my daughter through her teen years. It was incredible how horrid she was. She was always opinionated- I knew I was in trouble when she was 2 and she demanded I call her father so she could tell me how awful I was being. :barnie

When she hit 12 it was like a changeling she got so much worse. We had the horrendous room with so much crap you had to wade through it. Dirty laundry -so I quit doing her laundry. She did it herself or didn't have anything clean to wear. I was not going to wade through the crap to find dirty clothes. She had such a smell- because she wanted pets- at various times, gerbil, ferrets (I actually loved the ferrets, but they SMELL!), and a cat (and cat pan- she bought one of those automatic pans with her own money, but it still smelled like cat because she didn't clean that).

We had so many screaming fights, I'm surprised that the neighbors didn't call child services because I was such a mean mother and she hated me, and she wanted to go live with her father. Except that she didn't get along with her step mom or her father any better than with me.

I would go in her room periodically and fill trash bags with "stuff" and stash it in the garage where she wouldn't find it. When she couldn't find any of her "stuff" I pointed out to her that I filled up many trash bags from her room so it could be walked into, and maybe whatever she was looking for was gone. I kept the "stuff" just in case anything important was actually in there for about a month before I threw it out.

Good luck- my daughter and I hated each other for years. I have to say that she is now 27 and is quite human and admits that she was a terrorist for years.
:clap THANK YOU!! :hugs I must be doing something right then? It's SO HARD TO KNOW!!! Um...her daddy got a little wake up call this morning over something found in her room. It's not gonna be pretty when she is asked about that one. :hide

ETA: I should probably add the "thing" is nothing illegal...it just severely puts into question her integrity/motives/charachter and proves she has been lying her tail off for months. i guess it's a good thing her daddy has seen it, and I found it accidentally because she had SO MUCH CRAP piled up on her bed(top bunk) that when I pulled the sheets off it came tumbling out. Isn't that how mom's used to find their boys dirty magazines too  Changing the sheets and such... Sorry...just conjures up that in my mind. :hu

Get this....the tomatoes are in the garden!!!!!! The peppers aren't in because I still don't have my tiller back :somad I cleaned the meaties poop box (two wheelbarrows full). Looking around, I figure I can sneak another mowing in, then sweep for mulch on the newly planted 'maters. So, everything is cleaned up and put away, I engage the mower deck on the tractor and it's now raining!

I thought of you and the hubster this afternoon, could have used your weapon skills. We moved the coop (building code thing and the girls needed a fresh run) after sitting in place all winter. The eldest is doing a good job driving the tractor, and low and behold a big ol' nasty RAT comes popping out of the ground and runs back under the coop. Sheer chaos ensues! :ep

The terrier now goes outside and sits by the back of the coop and just keeps looking under it. :D

The big box trap is being placed out tonight.....

Im home now and my broody scovy has left her babes and is starting another clutch in the other coop. Im thinking of letting her sit then putting chicken eggs in and gifting the chicks to someone. One of my buns had 9 babies and lost one. Its so hot they are sweating I hope they make it....
