That's why I'm being good. But, it's not easy. Hubby's used a lot more wood on the fire than I would have. Don't know how I'm going to do the fire tomorrow since he won't be here. But, if he has it going when he leaves, I can hopefully get down a couple of times and do it. I'm trying not to walk too much though cuz it's kinda hard to walk on the crutches, and they're rubbing me on the sides.

It's not that cold out, so the bunnies should be OK for water in the morning. By the end of the week, I should be able to get out and do my animals w/no problem. And, I should be driving, so I can at least take care of my cats.

My goodness! You are being blessed! I am getting about ONE egg a day now from six hens! Two are molting and it is just too dark and cold yet I suppose for many eggs.

And we have dried off the goats now until after the kids are weaned. So, I won't be having any milk until mid June now. All three girls are due April 7th and 8th!

You can freeze milk. and eggs too, so I have heard, I have never tried freezing raw eggs.

I freeze the milk that goes goatie to make soap.

Making cheese uses up milk pretty quickly.

Sorry you have problems with your mom.
That can't be very fun.

Too bad we cant all just pack together and run a SS farm. It would be great! I could let you breed your goats to my new nubian/boer cross and the kids and I could help you eat some eggs! LOL

I frreeze eggs too, but my freezer is SO full right now!! I am getting about a dozen a day from 30 girls, mostly young pullets though. I have my usual old hens that are laying most of them right now. By Spring we'll be drowned in eggs! I have started the supplemental light for them, which is probably why I am getting so many, even with the mild weather the last week.

The milk...I wish I knew how to do the soap!!! I'd be a soap making nut! I need to make a bit of cheese too though. I may do that after everybody leaves tomorrow. :/

Deb, men will never do it the way we would. If he's anything like my DH he's not very thorough, but means well ;) I'm just thankful he's helping you!! Can't wait till you can get out and do some things, just be careful not to over do it :)

Actually, at times he can be too thorough! And, that's the problem. Today, he only gave the goats hay, no feed but they're not complaining and since he gave them 2x as much yesterday, I'm not worried. I would have like to have seen him w/the goat on his back, though. (Actually, I would have LOVED pic of it!)
