We went fishing the other day and didn't get a bite, BUT in about 2 months the hybrids will be spawning here and that is a blast! Last year we had to start throwing back because we had our limit for four people and we couldn't fit any more anyway. All of them were at least 2 lbs some close to 5 lbs. Seriously it was an absolute blast!
Nice! I want some big catfish SOON! I'm almost out in the freezer :(

I am getting overrun with eggs and milk! I have 3 gallons in the fridge of goat milk, because we can't drink/use it fast enough, and I have 4 dozen eggs piled up, and it's just from this week. :th We have been having eggs for breakfast every day, but we can only eat so much. I guess I need to start making cheese, ice cream, and more deviled eggs. I have run out of folks to give them to!!

Tomorrow is another homestudy. Can't wait for that  I need to get up early and sweep and mop, and feed the animals. Not much straightening up to do, but it's still a pain anyway. She should be here right about time to milk the goat, so guess she gets to watch :p I hope it doesn't take long, I'd like to try to get a few loads of steel gone tomorrow. I need to build up our funds for the trip to KY and well...just to build it up so we have some stashed away. I can not wait till this is over, or at least settled and we either have these children or not. This is just so stressful to me not knowing, having to keep making appointments and rescheduling and having no clue if we're even wasting our time half the time. I just want to be DONE! I have gardening stuff I'd like to be able to concentrate on for a few weeks, we have a coop to alter, and a tiller to get out of the shop amongst SO many other things. Can ya'l tell I'm pushing my limit on stress :p I have to be in court Thursday about my niece too. Tomorrow sometime, I am supposed to go help a fellow goat owner trim hooves, because she is a new goat owner and has NO clue what she's doing. Lotsa lotsa stuffs to do....

Nothing really new going on here, just same old, but lots of big events coming up the next week or so. I hope I don't lose my mind in the mess

My mother called, acted like nothing ever happened  So I guess she can just say what she wants and I'm supposed to take it...fine, whatever, I will. For now. Last pass. Next time, I won't bite my tongue. So for now, we're talking again.

I think I'm going to get the goats bred again this week. Maybe to a big ole Boer buck, but I can't decide whether I want to do that, or breed them to a Nubian. I'm not sure if I'd want to retain any for the herd, or just keep what I have since we've decided to NOT get rid of them :hu We'll see.

Someday I hope to be as busy as you are! I am sooooo bored and broke, that if I had a running vehicle, I would be on the road to your place! Give me something to do!!!

Out of curiosity, what would be the difference between breeding with a boer vs. a nubian? Is it a milk vs. meat thing?

Yeah it's a meat vs. milk issue. If I breed to a good Nubian I'll get better milk lines, with a Boer, I'd get better meat at the cost of poorer milk lines. BUT, the meat goats are selling better around here right now, who knows what it would be in 7 months when babies are weaned from breeding this week :hu Trying to figure out from a management standpoint which would be better.

I wish you could get your tail over here and help me  I'd LOVE it! And good company is always welcome ;)

I wish either of you could get over here and help me! I'm so bored and worried about my animals. But, I'm trying to be good so I can heal up fast and get over there.

Well, a friend is coming over tomorrow, so that will help. Hubby has been doing good, but I'd kind of like to see someone other than him. :/
