It's about an inch and a half short actually. Oh well, at least I have a stove I spose. There are worse things that could have happened. I'll get the one I want eventually...right? Maybe? Doubt it. This will do for now.

Lets talk about something less aggravating shall we? :p

So my tomato starts are getting their first true leaves :D The peppers have all come up and are doing rather well too :D I have most of the eggplants up and going good, keeping them all watered and proper lighting etc. etc. and everything is looking really nice so far. This is the FIRST TIME EVER I have made it this far with tomato starts :woot

:celebrate for new sprouts!! As soon as I get this dang chicken project done, I am getting some seeds started and my containers ready! We usually have our last frost mid/late March, but it has been such a warm winter overall, I think I might risk putting a few things in the ground. :idunno

eta: changed "from" to "frost" Doh! :/

Well snow started yet? It's been going all day here. We've got a couple inches so far, not much. Jealous of the seedlings! I haven't even gotten started yet! I did get the garden tilled though the other day.....back when it was almost 70 outside.

Here is how I did it.
First I planted the seeds in trays obviously. I used seedling mix I purchased(I know lame, but I didn't wanna mess it up!!).
Then I covered them, and put the trays in a DARK place until they sprouted.
When about half had sprouted I propped open the cover, and left them in the dark for a few more days until most had sprouted.
I then put them under a regular long fluorescent bulb.
The key is to keep them 4 inches or less from the light source! That keeps the seedlings from getting long and spindly and dampening off!! I never knew that before :p Mine always flopped over several days after coming up. They wouldn't quit growing UP and eventually would fall over and rot right at the soil line. also, keep the trays MOIST not wet!

Now, I have a LOT of tomatoes, peppers, and eggplant at 18 days. Usually at 18 days I had a bunch of crusty dried up remnants of tomatoes and peppers
These are doing GREAT though! I'm gonna shut up now before something bad happens to them. But, that's how I did it ;)
