Yeah I was thinking Whirlpool too. I just ran to Lowe's to sneak a peak.. After the sticker shock of looking at new ...I'm not gonna be too picky. I'm gonna check CL for used ones  People will be replacing theirs with income tax money to renovate kitchens etc. etc. so I'm going to see what I can see there. The cheapest one I have found retail is $335 tax and all. I REEEEEEEEALLY don't even have that kind of cash to be throwing around right now :/ So, I'm checkin out used ones instead. I tried to find a scratch and dent new model...no scratches, no dents *sigh*

if your willing to make the drive to jackson theres a used appliance store on Rt45 on the right just after the walmart (its pretty much directly across from lowes) its where i got my fridge/freezer from, its all second hand refabed stuff, but comes with a 3 month warentee, prices are right (they get some almost brand new stuff in) and the folks there are great (and open to haggling/offers)

its elders apliance tel # 731-423-1725

ill be going back to them when its time to replace my stove...
its always nice to buy new...but sometimes is just an expensive luxury...and used can be just as good :)

Yeah I'm not a snob..the only reason I HATE to buy appliances used is because of roaches :hide I hate those lil buggers, and appliances are where they LOVE to hide :sick

I plan on looking in Selmer tomorrow at a place who does used appliances. Henry Furiture if you ever need them, is a great place to buy used too. I am also going to check the thrift store my friend owns to see if they have anything I could use there. I know they clean their items up REALLY well. Hopefully I'll find something doable for under $100 :D

I may wind up at elders :) It depends on what everyone else has. I was soooooooo hoping for a damaged new one :( Sometimes those can be had for a song, and any damage would be hidden in the little nook where the stove fits anyway between my countertops. I aint givin up on that possibility either ;)

Wow! Where do I start.... Glad your trip to Atlanta was successful! Happy to hear you have sold the goats and some chickens. Sorry to hear about DH's allergies and unemployment (praying). Bummer about the stove (more praying). We got our practically new Kenmore off craigslist for $75.00. The deals are out there...

OK, let me start by saying, I love my stove (scratch - N - Dent from Lowes :D ). I just went and looked, to see what brand it is...ummm...it doesn't say :/ There's words on it, that I haven't paid attention to, that I THOUGHT were the brand. Nope. 'Professional Series' . Huh. :hu

My problem has always been bats. Twice, they have delivered a frig to me with a bat snuggly hanging out in the coils! :sick
