:hugs I'm still praying for you and your grandma! I know kinda how you feel about the goat babies. When I was going through that valley and accidentally killed most of the baby quail from the heat lamp I just felt like getting in a ball and crying. Good news is that mine passed and I'm rejoicing again and have victory again even though my circumstances haven't changed. This won't last forever!

I told you I was headed in that general direction right alongside ya  At least we can suffer together  I am trying to just laugh everything off, see the positive, praise Him in the storm...but sometimes I just have to fuss out loud still. It is very comforting to know storms only last so long, and we'll get through it. Can't help but think of Job and all he went through and believe me that makes me glad things aren't SO bad. The week is almost over :woot I'm just anxious for the sunshine!

Today is Joe's wake starting at 5 this afternoon. Tomorrow afternoon is the funeral at 1. My little niece is upset she wasn't going to get to go to her harvest festival at school, so I told her if she'd get ready for the funeral and be ready when I got there I'd take her for an hour before going to the funeral. Kids have a harder time understanding. She was so sad she didn't want to talk about it to tell her teacher she couldn't come, so she was writing her a note instead. She asked me if it was okay if she threw the note away. I told her yes, and she squealed and tossed it  An hour is a long time to an 8 year old so maybe that'll pacify her and she'll be good for the funeral.

I have a backache this morning! DH tried to pop it, but I think I have a disk out of place again around the middle of my back :/ Woke up stiff this morning. I may have to go soak in a hot bath to relax the muscles around it and then try to pop it back in then. I hate getting that! It happens from time to time though. I don't think I'll be getting much done today. May start some more seed.

Does anyone know how to keep ants at bay? I have a box of carrots growing and they have tried to take over one side of it. I really NEED something organic to encourage them to GET OUT  If you know of anything that works, lemme know please! I have destroyed their mound in there several times to no avail, they keep rebuilding. It's just little black ants, but they're all over the place.

I've never found any way to keep them from building in an area once they start, So if they're building in an area where I don't want them, I invite them for tea. Heat up water to the boiling point. Then, pour it on their hole.

I have a cornmeal/bacon grease/baking powder/yeast recipe somewhere around here.

A borax/sugar mix I've used before, too
