It has been a bit of a long day here. I had a 16 yr old, 2 15 yr olds, an 8 yr old, and a 4 yr old at my house all day. Had company 3 other times besides them, AND got all my junk done :D Then I took all the kids except the one 15 yr old that lives here and the 8 yr old home. I absolutely LOVE having all the neighbor kids over here. Everyone ate dinner with us, and I love having the overflow of chatter and giggles around the table. We all had fun. Everyone helped with the planting, and it took no time to finish with everyone pitching in and it made a dull long job, short and enjoyable. I could do that every day! We played in the yard after the work was done. The kids were all good and entertained each other and had a blast together. YES, I played too :p Days like this I wonder why I don't have a house full. It's really sad and gets me down when I think about it. Okay...so I'm done thinking about it :p No sense dwelling on it, it just really bothers me sometimes.

Anywho, we had a great day here on the farmlette. The momma duck has not hatched out her babies yet. I actually was expecting them this weekend. I have checked her several times, and nothing. I hope they hatch before this crazy weather comes through :/ It's making me a bit nervous for her being out there without any protection from the elements. She is in a safe spot, but my concern is the babies during a storm. I may put a doghouse out there for them to get into, maybe she'll have sense enough to move them out of the rain if they hatch in the next couple days. I hope.

Okay, I went with the kids to see the Stooges movie tonight. I know, I know, the slapstick is stupid and immature.

But the line uttered by hostess at a fancy party: "oh, great, there are those 3 morons". Guest: "the Kardashian sisters?" the theater goers started clapping!

I am happy I'm having a fun weekend too!! I was getting burnt out pretty quick with all we've had going on! I NEEDED a break from it. The duckies haven't hatched yet. I did see that she is very definately sitting on 14. I got to count them when she got off the nest to eat today. The others in the bator should be hatching Tuesday, I have 14 in there too, so if even half of them hatches I'll be duck rich

I could NOT get my butt in gear today to get ready for church. I am getting tired of the 35 mile drive :( So, me and the nieey girl took a break from it and went to a tiny church up the road here. We were home BEFORE NOON! :th It was amazing! We liked the little church too. The people were nice, the pastor seemed nice. The only thing about that church is it's half elderly people and just a handful of folks around our ages. There were only 3 children in the whole place, and all under 10 or 11. So I don't know if it'd be somewhere we frequent, but definately an option when the schedule is so tight. I's better than not going for sure. I get tired of the drive, but I also get tired of missing church. I don't really think it's the building or even the people that matters, but we are comfortable where we are other than the distance. Gas prices are making it difficult to want to go every time the doors swing open. I wish we could just move closer to the church, but I don't see that being a remote possibility either :p So for now, we'll visit when the schedule is too pressing to make it to our home church.

All the bunnies are bred again. I hope the mini rex girl is ready, she is of age, but didn't seem too excited about the process :p I guess we'll see though. My turkey hen is out there building a nest. Too bad I won't let her keep the eggs :p The last ones she tried to set all died :( Maybe if I get enough poults this year I will let her try again, but I want at least a dozen babies before trying her again. I need to retain several hens from this years birds. I may keep a male as well. I haven't decided just yet.

Anyway, I gotta take the niecey girl home here shortly. So far it has been a quiet slow day :woot

Cindi, a church like that isn't bad. In fact, it could have described MY church a few years ago. At times, I'd be the youngest one there! :th And, we had wondered if we were going to have to close the church. Now, we have a few children under the age of 10 as well as a few teens. We have some younger couples as well and I fit kind of in the middle so far as age goes. Who knows, you may be what that church needs.

I go to a church like that, I much prefer it to the larger one we went to. More homely, and they appreciate you more.

I like the little church, but it is realllllllly little. We have a hard enough time getting DD interested enough to go NOW. It sure is closer though. I LOVE that about it! I don't mind small churches myself. I do love the folks and the family feel of our regular church though. I dunno if I could get that comfortable there. I grew up in the other church for the most part. I've known half those folks since I was a pre teen, and they don't make you feel like the income gap is an issue either like some churches unfortunately do, and believe me there is a WIDE income gap there. Half our church is nurses and doctors and we are SO not :p Of course, neither does the church I went to today. UGH...I've been wanting to go closer to church for a loooooooong time, but now that I have, that's the only thing I can really say I honestly like about the whole experience. I knew several of the people there, but it's just not "home," and I have no clue if it ever could be. :hu I have wanted to move closer to OUR church, but it doesn't appear to be an option for various reasons. Definately going to pray more about it.

Not trying to put you down, but just making a general observation. When most people look for a church they ask, "What can this church do for me?", when in actuality they should be asking, "What can I do for the church?". But yeah, pray about it and follow God's leading.
