I could have sworn I posted in here earlier today...guess I posted to someone else's thread...wouldn't suprise me

Anyway, today is going better than the last few days. We got the house payment sent off and the phone bill paid, which is a HUGE relief! I have chicks coming out my ears now. I have about 20 hatched out, and about 12 more in the bator hatched and drying with about 30 left to go. LOTS of pips :D I WILL be glad when this hatch is over though. I got them too close together!! It has been nerve wracking.

The pig got out today. Thankfully, he stood at the back gate snorting like an idiot wanting back in his mud hole  It took a total of 3 minutes to get him put back up. he obviously did NOT really want out. :p

OK, I want to see a pic of the chicks coming out of your ears. Maybe that's what I'm doing wrong. :hide

:ya for getting the bills out! Takes a lot of the pressure off I bet!

Do you have issues hatching out chicks at this time of year? I know you 'bator them, but do you have trouble raising them up with the heat? I think I'd like to try again, but think I'd like to do it when it's warmer :hu

DH had JUST put the calf in the pasture, when he started pestering me about when we could get some feeder pigs! :barnie He wants a breeding pair now! :th Somebody help me! Glad your piggy decided to stay home!

Have you been to visit your Gramma yet? How is she doing? :hugs

:hugs Glad to hear that you got the bills taken care of! :hugs We had some scary, "how are we gonna pay the bills now" times after we moved out here when docs' unemployment ran out and the settlement money was gone.

Too funny about the escapee pig that wants to get back in! :gig

Life is NUTZ!
And you are an acorn who is growing into a MIGHTY OAK TREE! :D

Ditto everything Dawn said, been there a few times. But we've always been miraculously taken care of, and tough times have only strengthened our faith.

Funny about the pig, probably thought the grass was greener, then realized he didn't want grass--he wanted nice cool mud

You are already a pretty strong oak, despite naissance as a nut--you truly seem to be the strength for so many around you, and a strong shelter for your family and extraneous kids.

:hugs Praying for you as you get through this set of obstacles in your daily path.

SSD, haven't been to see her yet. They keep running so many tests :barnie I really want to wait and go when she is more herself, so we can actually have a conversation. I don't want to see her loopy if that makes sense. With her kidneys not working properly, that medicine is taking a while to get out of her system. Plus, now they have her seated until her system is clear...I still haven't heard the results of the biopsy either. Maybe we'll know by today. I only get one shot to get there to see her because of fuel costs, so I'm trying to wait for a decent time so we can have a QUALITY visit.

Get that man some pigs already  And chicks do BETTER this time of the year IMO. You don't have to run a brooder light most of the time, because temps are high enough, without the heat lamps, to keep the chicks comfy and lively.

Dawn, you'd think losing piddly little unemployment wouldn't be a big deal, but it IS when you have nothing else! Mighty oak tree huh? I feel more like a noodle flopping in the wind some days

moolie, it does happen that we are ALWAYS miraculously taken care of too. I know we will be this time, but man is it hard to not let it get to you some days :/ Thanks for the prayers sister :hugs

You all are so great! :)

We have many many more chickies in the hatch tray this morning. I counted ten, but then I quit counting because they're like fleas in there, all bunched up  I'll take them out when niecey gets up. If I do it without her, I'm liable to catch a whoopin this morning ;) She has this little basket she stacks the chicks in and totes them off to the brooder and counts them as she puts them in, then recounts the whole lot of them. I have no clue how many we have total, but my tiny accountant does  She's the chick boss :)

No real plans for today, just random lists of small things to get done. I'm going to have a sit down and write out a new budget and do my financial magic scissors and trim away a little more fat from somewhere. I can't see it unless it's on paper. May be cutting internet for a while. I can go to the neighbors and update and such, I'll just have less computer time to lurk around here and check in on you all :p That's $50 a month cut though. Then there's satellite, which would be a pain because we're still on contract for another year or so, and would have penalties to pay :/ I gotta do something though to cut some stuff or we're gonna mar up in the mud big time  I already don't spend money on much fuel, or food. If I can get the bills down further, we can fight through the absolute necessities and maybe give the appearance of being somewhat able to manage  House phone may go temporarily too. We'll see.

In other news,.................there is no other news :p I need to get rolling and get the kid up and counting chicks. Then I need to get on the budget issue and tame the financial beast. I hope everyone has a beautiful day! I'm gonna :D

Had a great 4th! We cooked out with the neighbors and shot fireworks her nephew bought for the kiddies :) I cooked half the day for it, homemade buns, baked beans, homemade barbecue sauce, and slaw, and barbecue pork chops :drool We're all gonna be fat as hogs but it was soooooooooo good! She made more pork chops, hot dogs, and barbecued bologna. We had a FEAST down there :) The niece and twins loved the fireworks. The dog ran and hid  We all had a good time, and are worn out now.

We wound up with about 60ish chickies, and more going to lockdown tomorrow. I'll have a TON of birds to take to the flea market. I have to get my buddy's ducklings too to take. Hopefully we'll sell out quickly and won't have to sit there all day.

I didn't get the budget done yet. Gotta do that before I go to bed though. So I think I'm headed that general direction. Then I will be O.U.T. like a light. So tired!

I hope everyone had a lovely Independence Day 2012! :hugs :frow
